Position Overview
Storer Transportation is seeking a patient, empathetic, and detail-oriented Paratransit / Transit Customer Service Representative to support our public transit operations. In this remote role, you will assist passengers—including seniors and individuals with disabilities—in scheduling specialized door-to-door transit services. Your primary objective is to deliver outstanding customer care while maintaining high schedule accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls from transit passengers to book, cancel, or modify trip reservations within specialized software.
- Verify passenger eligibility, mobility requirements, and destination addresses to ensure accurate scheduling.
- Provide real-time route and arrival updates to passengers inquiring about delayed vehicles.
- Document and escalate passenger feedback, service compliments, and service complaints using internal ticketing systems.
- Collaborate with live dispatchers to adjust bookings dynamically during high-volume periods or route interruptions.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume call center, customer service, or public-facing utility role.
- Exceptional empathy, patience, and active listening skills, particularly when serving vulnerable communities.
- Fast and highly accurate data entry skills while simultaneously communicating over a headset.
- Prior experience with specialized scheduling software like Trapeze, EcoLane, or similar tools is highly preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and reassuring under high-pressure or high-volume call conditions.
