Your Opportunity

Scion is paving a path in student living and we’re seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join us in executing our vision. This position will focus on the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis and auditing of payroll data, information, records and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions and provide insight into variances. 

The Payroll Administrator is an analytical thinker that excels in a fast-paced, agile, corporate environment. This role demands thorough communication skills, inherent detail orientation, and a collaborative approach to working with others. This is an in-office opportunity, based at our Chicago headquarters. For FLSA purposes, this position is exempt. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead payroll processing efforts relating to full-cycle, multi-state payrolls for over 1500 employees.
  • Assist in funding payroll and benefits programs for all company codes.
  • Maintain organized records of employee payroll and benefits information.
  • Input employee payroll and benefits changes into ADP when status changes or new hire processes occur.
  • Identify areas for improvement in streamline payroll processes.
  • Assist in documenting current and upcoming payroll processes
  • Prepare and distribute written and verbal information regarding payroll updates, employee benefits, compensation, and personnel policies.
  • Respond to employee and manager questions regarding payroll or benefits.
  • Ensure the maintenance and accurate distribution of annual bonuses and merit increases.
  • Remain current on state and federal payroll and tax laws within the United States and Canada. 

What We Require

  • 3-5 years of previous experience as a Payroll Coordinator or similar role processing multi-state full-cycle payrolls.
  • 1+ years of UKG Experience (ADP Workforce Now experience a plus).
  • Proficient knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll software (Vena, ADP and Concur are a plus).
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting and human resources concepts.
  • Proficient with Excel and large data sets.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000-$85,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
