In this highly impactful position, you'll guide employees and People Leaders through some of the most meaningful moments in the employee lifecycle - including leaves of absence and the transition to retirement. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, providing thoughtful, personalized support that helps employees feel cared for, informed and confident during these important milestones.
As a key member of our Milestones & Events team, you'll manage complex, sensitive situations with empathy and precision. You'll collaborate closely with internal partners and external vendors to ensure we deliver a seamless, complaint, and exceptional experience from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer a full range of leave programs - including FMLA, state and local leave requirements, USERRA, and short-term disability - ensuring accuracy compliance, and a supportive employee experience.
  • Service as the primary point of contact for employees and People Leaders, offering clear guidance, compassionate support, and subject-matter expertise throughout the leave or retirement process.
  • Provide end-to-end case management through the ServiceNow platform using a strong consultative approach to help employees understand their options and next steps.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external partners to coordinate handoffs, share timely updates, resolve escalations, and maintain regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Identify and champion process improvements, recommending automation and streamlined workflows that reduce manual work and enhance the overall employee experience.
  • Manage complex, sensitive cases across all levels of the organization, partnering with Legal and Field HR to mitigate risk and ensure ethical, compliant decision making.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee data in Oracle HR, ensuring strong data integrity and alignment across systems.
  • Oversee shared mailbox operations, responding promptly to inquiries, escalating issues as appropriate, and organizing communications to support consistent governance and documentation practices.
  • Schedule and facilitate one-on-one consultation meetings, addressing individual questions and helping employees and leaders fully understand their options.
  • Analyze survey and feedback data to identify trends, elevate opportunities for improvement, and contribute to continuous evolution of the employee experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related employee-facing role.
  • At least two years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in a role involving employee support or case management
  • Experience with benefits or leave administration is strongly preferred, including working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, ERISA.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service, particularly in sensitive or complex situations.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success managing a high volume of cases while maintaining accuracy, empathy, and strong service standards.
  • Strong critical thinking- problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and creating charts/graphs.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Northbrook or Chicago location.
What we offer:
  • Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $64,000 to $75,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
