Job DescriptionIn this role the successful candidate will work with software developers and product management to ensure successful development and deployment of key system components and solutions overall. As a Performance Engineer in Test, this role will have a breadth of knowledge and success in conducting functional, performance, and fault tolerance testing as well as the ability to comprehend requirements, complete work in a timely manner and communicate information effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work with development teams to develop performance test plans and cases.
· Develop performance testing approach using automated testing techniques.
· Setup and configure performance testing tools to gather test results.
· Preparing data in support of full performance testing life cycle
· Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability.
· Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions.
· Conduct job trainings and provide assistance to other Test Engineers as needed.
· Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency.
· Run manual tests wherever necessary.
· Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures.
· Log defects as needed and participate in triage process.
· Developing testing metrics and analyzing low performance software systems
· Analyze test results to determine next steps and to provide development teams with
recommendations on performance tuning.
· Generate test summary reports for management review.
Everyone in the team is responsible for ensuring high quality, but this role will be the champion for driving high quality principles throughout the product creation process.
Qualifications
Required Qualification
• 5+ years of experience in performance, scalability, and fault tolerance testing using JMeter, The Grinder, HP Load Runner, etc
• 3+ years of performance monitoring and analytics using New Relic, AppDynamics, Dotcom-Monitor, etc
• 3+ years of expert level coding skills in Java (recent experience in back-end Java desired)
• Extensive working experience in automated testing using JUnit/TestNG, SoapUI, etc
• 3+ years of experience in deploying J2EE applications (in Tomcat, JBoss etc.)
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs , XML, JSON, network programming and message exchange systems
• Must be a team player, should be able to get along well with others
• Great communication skills (including active listening and comprehending requirements)
Desired Skills
• Scrum model
• Knowledge of testing and analyzing large and complex systems
• Knowledge of Jenkins/Hudson or another continuous integration and release management tool
• Good knowledge of SCM tools including Git, subversion
• Knowledge of build automation tools e.g. maven, ant, gradle
• Knowledge of one or more scripting languages e.g. python, ruby, groovy
