Key Responsibilities
- Oversee physician billing and coding operations across Munson Healthcare within Huron’s Managed Services framework.
- Manage and coordinate diagnostic and procedural coding processes to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and payer requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain system-wide processes that promote compliance and efficiency in revenue cycle operations.
- Monitor coding accuracy, productivity, and compliance metrics; identify and implement improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with Munson leadership, physicians, and clinical teams to resolve documentation and coding issues promptly.
- Supervise and direct assigned personnel, providing leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and present reports on coding performance, audit results, and compliance initiatives to Huron and Munson leadership.
- Ensure adherence to institutional standards, practices, policies, and procedures across all revenue cycle functions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) required; additional certifications (e.g., CPMA, CCS) preferred.
- Experience:
- 5–7 years of physician billing and coding experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
The estimated salary range for this job is $90,000 - $125,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy and Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
