Innovatus Technology Consulting is seeking a PL/SQL & Middleware Systems Developer to join our remote engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of database scripts and provide critical support for Java Web Applications.

We are looking for a proactive developer who is comfortable working at the intersection of database management and system operations. You will focus on improving system resiliency, automating tactical operations, and enhancing our monitoring and forensic data capabilities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Database Development: Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL database scripts to support core application functions.

  • Application Support: Support Java Web Applications, ensuring seamless integration between the database and the front-end.

  • Middleware Operations: Implement capabilities to move middleware processing across back-end Linux servers to support COOP (Continuity of Operations), patching, and high availability.

  • Disaster Recovery: Assist in the development, regular exercise, and maintenance of a credible Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan.

  • Tactical Automation: Build and manage automated processes for starting/stopping/restarting middleware and routing back-end traffic.

  • Observability & Monitoring: * Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards to analyze response times, error rates, and support drill-down troubleshooting.

    • Maintain a "Single Pane of Glass" dashboard displaying the operational status of all middleware components.

  • Forensic Analysis: * Improve the capture of critical forensic data into HTTP log files to better analyze traffic and attack patterns.

    • Use automated tools to capture and analyze heap/thread dumps for application troubleshooting.

  • Configuration Management: Manage operational details via OS-level configuration files rather than embedding them within .jar files.

Required Qualifications
  • Security Clearance: Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Database Skills: Strong proficiency in Oracle and PL/SQL development.

  • Environment: Experience working within Linux environments and managing middleware components.

  • Monitoring Tools: Experience using Splunk for data analysis and dashboard creation.

  • Automation: Proficiency in automating routine server and application tasks.

Preferred Skills
  • Java Exposure: Experience or familiarity with Java is a significant advantage.

  • Knowledge of COOP operations and basic forensic data analysis.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex application issues using system logs and dumps.
