Organizations, large and small, depend on us to accurately publicize market-moving news and multimedia, and generate social engagements that develop interactions with their target audiences.

About the Role
Business Wire is seeking a Platform Manager focused on modernizing and maintaining our infrastructure operations as we transition all operations into cloud native environments. This role requires technical leadership and hands-on individual contribution. You’ll guide the team through initiatives such as cloud migrations, expanding our Kubernetes adoption, and supporting/improving our GitOps and CI/CD processes, all while ensuring security, scalability, and resilience. You will collaborate with engineering teams to support cloud-native application deployments and streamline CI/CD workflows. You will expand centralized cloud automation platform by developing reusable IaC modules and pipelines that enforce standardization and compliance policies.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, has recent experience building and operating infrastructure in AWS and is passionate about mentoring others while staying close to the technology.

What You'll Do

  • Lead cloud migrations.
  • Drive application containerization by leveraging Kubernetes to improve scalability and maintainability.
  • Disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Establish and promote Kubernetes best practices across the organization.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Apply AWS best practices to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architecture.
  • Participate in security audits and lead remediation efforts to maintain compliance and harden infrastructure.
  • Transition to immutable infrastructure to increase reliability and simplify deployment.
  • Expand usage of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Manage engineering backlogs and sprints, ensuring effective sprint planning and execution.
  • Mentor team members and lead upskilling initiatives to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing.

What You'll Need

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management position.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, RDS, etc.).
  • Proven experience with GitOps tools—preferably ArgoCD—and a strong understanding of GitOps principles.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles and experience with auditing and remediation.
  • Familiarity with immutable infrastructure patterns.
  • Track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Experience merging or integrating teams and building a unified team culture is a plus
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FinOps techniques for cloud infrastructure is a plus.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar is a plus.
  • Business Wire will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

    What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $185K to $195K/year.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.

    Business Wire’s total rewards include:
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Excellent health benefits that begin on your first day of employment
  • $100 monthly fitness allotment, a tuition reimbursement program, and enhanced mental health resources
  • 401(k) plan with generous company match, and annual profit sharing contribution (subject to company performance)
  • PTO, Floating Holidays, Wellness Day Off, Birthday Day Off, and more!

A pre-employment background check will be required after the acceptance of an offer. Business Wire is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
