PMO - Capital Markets Senior Manager
As part of CFGI’s Project Management Advisory practice, you will work as an extension of our client’s team to lead and coordinate complex transaction and finance transformation projects. This position will focus on capital markets initiatives and play an integral role in delivering successful outcomes across multiple workstreams.
You will be responsible for coordinating CFGI services across projects that may include Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), acquisitions, divestitures and carve-outs, finance organization transformations, and technology implementations. This includes overseeing technical accounting, SEC reporting, internal controls, finance transformation, and cybersecurity efforts. You will work closely with CFGI partners and client leaders to develop and execute project plans, advise on the stand-up and delivery of PMOs, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Effective communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills will be imperative to your success in this role. The ability to work independently while collaborating across diverse teams is essential to driving transformation and delivering high-quality results for our clients.
What you might expect:
· Advise clients on best practices for planning and executing capital markets and finance transformation projects.
· Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project plans for complex transactions and client initiatives.
· Lead discussions with client stakeholders across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment and progress toward deliverables.
· Oversee the preparation of executive reporting materials and status updates for senior leadership.
· Advise and assist clients on the stand-up, structure, and delivery of a project management office (PMO).
· Identify and address project risks, issues, and scope changes, escalating as needed to leadership.
· Lead and mentor junior team members within the PMO and in your home market.
· Foster trusted relationships with stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and business partner.
· Maintain a professional and positive attitude in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Who you are:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
· Minimum of five years’ experience in audit or financial advisory services.
· Prior experience in a project management role within a professional services or consulting environment.
· Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in complex environments.
· Proven ability to successfully lead projects to completion within scope, timeline, and budget.
· Preferred: Active CPA license (or equivalent, e.g., Chartered Accountant) and/or Project Management certification (CAPM, PMP).
· Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, etc.).
· Knowledge of capital markets transactions and public company requirements, compliance, and operations.
· Familiarity with financial systems and ERP technologies (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines.
· Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across several workstreams.
· Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Monday.com, ClickUp).
