As a Portfolio Manager, you will manage and grow a portfolio of commercial relationships while ensuring strong credit quality and risk management. You’ll analyze complex financial data, support relationship growth, and identify opportunities to expand client solutions. This role offers meaningful exposure to senior leaders, diverse clients, and long-term career growth within Associated Bank.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of commercial relationships to ensure credit quality, compliance, and performance.

  • Analyze financial statements and loan requests to recommend sound credit structures aligned with policy.

  • Partner with Relationship Managers to deepen client relationships and support retention and growth.

  • Identify and refer cross-sell opportunities across deposits, treasury, capital markets, and specialty services.

  • Oversee renewals, credit reviews, and ongoing risk monitoring, taking action as needed.

  • Collaborate with credit, operations, and internal partners to deliver timely, high-quality client solutions.

  • Participate in loan approval presentations and contribute to portfolio and regional initiatives.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of experience in commercial, corporate, CRE, or specialized banking

  • 4+ years managing complex credit structures

  • Ability to lawfully drive with access to reliable transportation

Preferred

  • 2+ years of sales or relationship management experience

  • 2+ years of formal credit training

  • CFA designation
