Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join our growing Power & Energy Business Unit. You will be responsible for the analysis, design, and optimization of power systems including, but not limited to, Switchgear, Switchboards, and Panelboards for distribution infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient operation while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze electrical loads and power requirements for automation equipment and facilities.
  • Design power systems, including distribution, switchgear, switchboards, panel boards and MCC’s.
  • Design, select and specify electrical components in the Low Voltage Equipment such as controls, transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
  • Use design tools including Siemens COMPAS, Schneider SE Advantage, Eaton Bid Manager, and ABB Empower to select the correct components and breakers.
  • Develop and implement protection schemes to safeguard equipment and personnel.
  • Liaise with mechanical and control engineers to coordinate power system integration with automation controls.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and advancements in power systems, including data centers, renewable energy integration and microgrids.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in power systems engineering for industrial or commercial applications.
  • Strong understanding of power system theory, including power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization principles.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis software tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, or ETAP.
  • Ability to perform short-circuit calculations and apply protective device coordination principles is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and experience with EPlan is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards: UL1558, UL891, UL67, UL845, UL 508A.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused.

  • Travel Requirements – 5 - 10% travel
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa currently.
