The Precision Agronomist (PA) plays a key role in delivering expert agronomic advice and tailored solutions to farmers and agribusinesses utilizing the scientific technologies of Advanced Agrilytics. They combine their technical knowledge of precision farming tools with strong sales and relationship-building skills to help customers adopt technologies that optimize inputs, enhance yields, and increase farm profitability. This role involves a blend of sales, agronomic consulting, and customer relationship management.
The Precision Agronomist (PA) reports to the Regional Agronomy Lead (RAL).
Customer Needs Assessment
Work closely with farmers and agronomists to understand their operations, goals, and challenges.
Conduct farm assessments and use data-driven insights to recommend precision agriculture solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
Provide technical and agronomic advice to optimize input usage, such as fertilizers, pesticides, and water, based on collected data and precision farming techniques.
Crop Analysis
Provide recommendations to customers and help them make informed business decisions by utilizing our proprietary software offerings.
Develop grower crop plans, rotations, and product positioning by unlocking the potential of every acre.
Serve as a sub-acre practitioner working alongside growers to showcase the value of product positioning.
Deliver all portfolio prescriptions with fundamental rationale.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data for year end reviews with customers.
Sales & Market Share Growth
Prospecting via existing relationships and cold calling alongside the Regional Sales Lead (where applicable) or individually to generate and uncover opportunities for customer acquisition
Identify and pursue new business opportunities by building relationships with farmers, agribusinesses, and industry stakeholders.
Achieve sales targets by offering solutions that meet the specific needs of clients, focusing on improving farm productivity and profitability.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of agronomists and sales representatives, providing guidance on technical agronomy solutions and sales strategies.
Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and develop professional growth plans for team members.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Hire and maintain oversight in training summer interns

Market Research and Product Knowledge
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in precision agriculture technologies, products, and industry trends.
Continuously update product knowledge and understand competitors' offerings to position the company's products and services effectively.
Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and experiences in the field.
Work with Research Team Leads to identify growers and fields for research projects in your area.
