A Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising children, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and encouraging children's social, emotional, and educational development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher with planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
- Help children develop social, emotional, and communication skills through positive guidance.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials and learning centers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment.
- Assist children with personal care needs, including handwashing, toileting, and dressing, as needed.
- Observe children's behavior and report concerns or progress to the lead teacher.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management.
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administrators.
- Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Experience working with young children is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with children.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively participate in classroom and playground activities.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) may be required.
- Successful completion of required background checks.
