Role Overview:

The Principal Business Analyst role is responsible for critical components of the Company’s internal management reporting, including monthly internal management reporting, financial analysis, and budgeting. 

A Sample of What You’ll Do in this Role:

Strategic Business Analysis & Communication:

  • Analyze complex business challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and design impactful solutions to align with organization goals.
  • Collaborate with Field Leadership to translate business needs into actionable projects and initiatives providing high level insights and strategic recommendations
  • Communicate complex financial data and insights in a clear and actionable manner to non-financial stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication of business needs, changes, and progress.
  • Develop strong relationships with executive teams, department heads, and other business units to facilitate collaboration and drive business initiatives forward.
  • Lead meetings and presentations to gather feedback, align expectations, manage stakeholder concerns and layout findings, including actionable insights, to leadership teams.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor and track key financial metrics, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop regular automated and ad-hoc financial/other reports for senior management, stakeholders, and other key business units.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets.
  • Develop accurate financial forecasts to predict future financial outcomes based on current data and trends.

Business Process Improvement:

  • Analyze business processes and financial operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
  • Provide data-driven insights to help streamline financial and operational procedures.

What You Bring to this Role:

  • 3-5 years of financial and/or business analytics experience, professional designation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial concepts with an ability to clearly communicate with a diverse audience.
  • Skills in taking broad and sometimes complex issues, simplifying findings, and effectively communicating with audiences with limited accounting/financials experience.
  • Experience taking data from multiple sources and projecting future outcomes.
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills are required.
  • Experience with Power BI is required.
  • Experience with Planful, other database tools, VBA, and/or SQL a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus).

  • You have experience in Decision Support (preferred)
  • You have experience in the agriculture industry (preferred)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $110,100 - $154,260. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. 
  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
