The Impact You Will Make

The Product Manager sits on the Enterprise Data team and partners with the marketing and operations analytics function. You will be a close, trusted partner to the marketing operations team- earning their confidence, learning their goals, and making it easy for them to turn their asks into clear, buildable data products. Working within the product strategy and vision set by leadership, you bring product thinking to how requirements are shaped, owned, prioritized, and delivered. This role is the bridge between business questions and the data that answers them.

You will work with marketing analytics operations and business users from the COO org to understand their key questions and KPIs, translate them into clear product requirements, and then partner with the enterprise data and marketing analytics teams to deliver data products (treated tables, semantic layer, reports, and dashboards) that generate the insights leaders need. Your value lies in framing the right questions, defining clear requirements, and ensuring that what is delivered truly answers them. You will need to influence and align stakeholders across functions, reconciling differing points of view to reach a unified set of metrics and a single source of truth, and partnering with executive sponsors when alignment is difficult to reach. You will have discretion to adjust priorities as new information emerges, communicating any changes to key stakeholders, and you'll connect individual requests to the bigger picture so that what gets delivered avoids rework and truly drives outcomes. If you enjoy solving business problems, working across teams, and turning data into decisions, this role is for you.

How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life

What You Will Do

  • Partner with marketing & operations analytics and business users to understand their key business questions and the KPIs that matter most, aligning stakeholders around a shared source of truth.

  • Explore the intent behind every ask from business before shaping requirements- understand why a dashboard, report, or metric is needed, what decision it drives, and what business value and impact it will deliver.

  • Translate business questions questions and KPIs into clear product requirements and user stories for data team.

  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the enterprise data and marketing analytics teams, making sure requirements are understood and that what is delivered answers the original question, escalating to sponsors when alignment is hard to reach.

  • Partner with the enterprise data and marketing & operations analytics teams through delivery, providing clarity, answering questions, and reviewing output, without building the data, models, or reports yourself, but having ownership of definitions and help provide clarity of how to address the needs and accelerate the time from need identified to solution delivered.

  • Own and prioritize the requirements backlog across marketing and operations analytics initiatives, balancing effort against business value adjusting priorities as new information emerges.

  • Run gap analyses to find where current data and reporting do not yet answer the business questions and lead the shaping of requirements to close those gaps.

  • Document current-state and future-state processes and reporting needs based on interviews with business stakeholders.

  • Help define a common set of terms, definitions, and KPIs to support a shared source of truth across teams.

  • Contribute insights and analysis to the regular operating cadence, including monthly performance reviews, board and investor materials, and budget, connecting individual work to the bigger picture.

  • Track requirements through delivery, surface issues early, and drive timely resolution with the delivery teams.

  • Stay current on trends in data and analytics so you can ask sharper questions and shape better requirements.

What Success Looks Like

  • Business questions and KPIs are translated into clear requirements that the delivery teams can act on with little rework.

  • Delivered data products (treated tables, reports, and dashboards) that reliably answered the questions stakeholders asked.

  • Marketing and business users trust the reporting/definitions/underlying data and use it to make decisions.

How Impact Will be Measured

  • Clarity and quality of requirements, measured by low rework and optimization of the delivery cycle for faster delivery.

  • Adoption and use of delivered data products (treated tables, dashboards, and reports) by marketing and business stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder satisfaction across marketing analytics, business users, and the delivery teams.

  • Business questions answered and insights delivered on a regular operating cadence.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Experience That Matters Most

  • 8+ years in product management, product ownership or a comparable requirements-owning role for data, analytics, or reporting products. A business-analysis or analytics background is welcome, but this is a product role -accountable for outcomes and a prioritized backlog.

  • Proven experience acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical or data teams.

  • Product Manager or Product ownership experience-translating business needs into a prioritized backlog and partnering with delivery teams to ship against a product vision set by leadership.

  • A built-in instinct to question requests rather than take orders- you naturally ask why something is being built, what decision it serves, and what business value it creates, and can point to times this reframed, resequenced, or stopped low-value work.

  • Value realization and business-outcome orientation-you help to define success as the marketing decision or business impact a data product enables, and you follow through after delivery to confirm the product actually moved the metric it targeted

  • Thoughtful prioritization-comfort using a value-vs-effort or similar framework to sequence the backlog, balance competing requests, and bring stakeholders along on trade-offs and sequencing.

  • Strong marketing data literacy and storytelling-fluency with marketing metrics and the funnel, be able to interpret analytics and judge which signals actually matter and turn them into a clear narrative that helps the business team act.

  • Strong working knowledge of marketing metrics, operational KPIs, and performance measurement, with the ability to shape the right questions and define clear requirements.

  • Understanding of Databricks and the data warehouse(s)- enough to write realistic, buildable requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret data and reporting and turn it into clear, actionable insights for business audiences.

  • Experience writing product requirements and user stories within an agile framework.

  • Experience running gap analyses and documenting current-state and future-state processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex ideas simply to business partners.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Growth mindset, high accountability, and the ability to operate with urgency in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, math, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Experience That’s Great to Have

  • Experience in a marketing analytics function, in a B2B and/or B2C context.

  • Experience working in a higher education environment.

  • Familiarity with the data stack especially Databricks, data warehouses, and Tableau, plus SQL, dbt, Looker, or Python- enough to collaborate well with the data team and write realistic requirements, not to build.

  • Understanding of how dashboards, data models, and semantic layers are built, so you can write clear, realistic requirements.

  • Experience with financial metrics and P&Ls.

  • Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).

  • Experience leading or mentoring analysts, or leading analytics projects end-to-end.

  • Knowledge using AI assistants (e.g., Claude) in the product workflow- for discovery, drafting requirements and user stories, summarizing stakeholder input, and first-pass data analysis.

  • Familiarity with product discovery and prioritization frameworks (e.g., RICE, opportunity-solution trees, jobs-to-be-done).

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent agile product certification.

  • Working proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Confluence- managing a backlog, writing and grooming user stories/acceptance criteria in Jira, and documenting requirements, decisions, and definitions in Confluence.

  • Comfort with Microsoft 365 for collaboration and deliverables-Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with visual collaboration and diagramming tools (e.g. Lucidchart) for mapping journeys, data flows, and current- vs. future-state processes.
