Your future team
As a Principal Program Manager on the CTO Strategic Initiatives team, you will provide expert strategic guidance on the planning and execution of complex, cross-functional programs involving engineering, product, sales, marketing, and other teams.
You will oversee and monitor the progress of multiple programs to ensure alignment with company goals and timely delivery, while facilitating collaboration among diverse stakeholders for cohesive execution. You'll leverage your unique experience to identify and mitigate risks, offer technical insights to enhance program outcomes, and support team planning and execution.
This is the most senior individual contributor Program Management (Technical) role at Atlassian. In this role you will bring the leadership necessary to transform and drive some of the most critical company-wide transformations helping Atlassian achieve it's strategic goals.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: USD 200700 - USD 262025
Zone B: USD 180900 - USD 236175
Zone C: USD 167400 - USD 218550
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

- Execution and delivery
- Drive program plans, schedules, resource alignment, and budgets while maintaining a single source of truth.
- Orchestrate functional workstreams to drive repeatable outcomes.
- Track progress by building dashboards and scorecards to escalate and resolve blockers quickly.
- Risk, change, and communications
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and interdependencies. Effectively run change-impact assessments and mitigation plans.
- Partner with cross functional stakeholders on internal/external messaging, leadership updates, and change management.
- Ensure continuity and compliance across data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder management and governance
- Prepare executive-ready updates, business reviews, and reporting for sponsors and leadership.
- Facilitate steering forums and decision-making while driving alignment across senior stakeholders from several cross-functional orgs.
- Continuous improvement
- Codify repeatable playbooks, templates, and KPIs to improve time-to-value and integration quality.
- 10+ years of program management experience, including 5+ years in technology integrations.
- Analyzing area strategies, business priorities, customer needs, industry trends and articulating a long-term roadmap for your area of responsibilities
- Proven track record delivering cross-functional integrations spanning product and engineering.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management; comfortable influencing at C-level.
- Deep change management experience, including Day 1 readiness and organizational design impacts.
- Expertise with modern program tooling and reporting; proficiency with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence) or equivalent.
- Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
