ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

Who we are looking for:
Slate is seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager, Vehicle Delivery & Ownership to own product strategy and execution for vehicle delivery across fleet and retail customers. This role manages a broad, operationally complex scope that includes multiple live partner integrations, distinct user personas, and customer feedback systems that directly shape how Slates are delivered to retail and fleet customers. Working closely with engineering, design, operations, commercial, and partner teams, you will define and execute the roadmap for customers’ physical touchpoints with their Slates. You should thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, manage multiple concurrent workstreams, and stay effective amid ambiguity and competing priorities. This high-visibility, high-impact role will engage with all levels of Slate leadership and strategic partners.

What you get to do:

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Delivery, ensuring it delivers a seamless, high-quality customer experience.

  • Work backwards from customer and partner needs to define detailed product requirements, partnering with engineering and design to deliver on the roadmap.

  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry experts to gather insights and translate them into product features that enhance the customer experience.

  • Manage multiple live partner relationships simultaneously, balancing partner's needs with Slate's product vision and operational goals.

  • Advocate for agile and lean product development methodologies to accelerate time to market while maintaining a frugal approach to resource allocation.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging rapid iteration and learning from operational feedback.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. MBA from a top-tier university is preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, ideally in customer-facing or operations-heavy products in a technology-first environment. Startup experience is preferred.

  • Experience managing large-scale technical products, with a track record for developing a vision, defining a strategy and building programs and features from the ground up.

  • Experience managing products with multiple concurrent partner integrations and diverse user personas (e.g., admin, manager, technician, or similar B2B2C structures).

  • Track record of owning complex, operationally intensive product areas from strategy through execution.

  • Experience building and shipping AI-powered product.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to align executives, cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, design, operations, and commercial teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with comfort operating in ambiguity across multiple product areas at once.

  • Passion for reimagining the vehicle delivery and ownership.
