Overall Summary

You will support J.P. Morgan Alternative Fund Services (“AFS”) within Securities Services in the Corporate & Investment Bank by delivering Private Equity fund accounting, valuation, and investor reporting. You will own accurate books and records maintenance, capital activity processing, and periodic/annual reporting deliverables, while meeting SLA timelines, partnering with internal stakeholders, and operating within the control framework and internal policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Fund accounting / books and records

  • You will set up and maintain the books and records of Private Equity funds, including GP vehicles where applicable, in the accounting database in line with the terms and conditions of governing documents.

Valuations and periodic financial reporting

  • You will prepare and/or review periodic Net Asset Valuations and financial reporting packs, including financial statements, management fee and carried interest calculations, investor allocations, and capital account statements.

Capital activity and investor communications

  • You will prepare and/or review capital call and distribution calculations, including investor notices.
  • You will reconcile capital call proceeds and distribution payments to ensure complete and accurate processing.
  • You will manage the release of capital notices and quarterly reporting on the investor reporting portal.

Client delivery, controls, and year-end

  • You will work closely with your manager, team, and internal stakeholders to manage client expectations and deliver against SLA timelines for scheduled deliverables and ad hoc requests.
  • You will adhere to the control framework, including internal policies and procedures, and you will complete required controls as part of daily and reporting-cycle execution.
  • You will manage the year-end process and handle requests from external auditors and tax teams.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably at a Big 4, PE firm, or fund administrator.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP for Investment Funds and you are familiar with Private Equity fund structures.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking and attention to detail to identify issues, solve problems, and deliver accurate outputs.
  • Work under pressure, balance multiple priorities, and deliver to deadlines while maintaining strong client service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and you have strong MS Excel skills.
  • (Preferred / a plus) You have a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA).
  • (Preferred / a plus) You have experience with Investran or a similar integrated Private Equity system.
