ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Product and Privacy Counsel to join our legal team and provide strategic advice on legal and regulatory issues across our AI and cloud services. You'll collaborate with engineering, security, and leadership teams to manage product liability, IP, data security, and compliance matters - helping define what responsible AI operations look like at scale. This is a hands-on role that blends traditional legal work with the emerging complexities of AI technology.
This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates being based in the Los Angeles area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise on legal and compliance issues across AI software, cloud services, and hardware products.
- Manage intellectual property matters, including software and hardware assets.
- Oversee data privacy and security compliance programs.
- Develop and maintain internal governance processes for AI systems and partnerships.
- Support research, contracts, and compliance for both third-party AI tools and first-party AI development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and engineering to define liability standards in the evolving AI legal landscape.
- Monitor emerging laws and regulations affecting AI and data use.
REQUIREMENTS
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house at a major tech company.
- Strong foundation in product liability, IP, and data compliance.
- Skilled at working directly with technical and engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience working with AI systems or cloud infrastructure.
- Background in government or regulatory compliance.
- Technical literacy and a collaborative, practical mindset.
