Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Craft creative, persuasive and compliant copy for product packaging, display and marketing materials to contribute to the development and sales of products within the school supplies, stationery, art, novelty, poster and activity product categories.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Manage copywriting, fact checking, and proofreading for Tangerine Press products.

a. Develop, evaluate and maintain a roster of contract-based copywriters, fact checkers, and proofreaders appropriate for the Tangerine Press product list

b. Manage all copywriting and proofreading throughout the product development process to ensure high quality, on time delivery of products

c. Final decision-maker on all product and display copy

d. Track and implement corrections for product reprints

2. Ensure proper inclusion and placement of all product safety and Scholastic copyright information.

3. Oversee the product development and proofing routing system (Workfront) and process.

a. Serve as the central point of contact for Workfront; Manage file uploads and routing of product design work and copy

b. Coordinate with designers to establish and meet product routing due dates

c. Monitor product proof routing progress and team responses for keep product proofing on time

d. Proofread all text and product data for all projects (ISBN and UPC, item number, manufacture date and country, copyright date, purchase order information, etc.,)

4. Support the Operations Manager in coordinating timelines and project schedules

5. Set up and update titles across the various data management and work platforms.

6. Other projects and administrative duties, as needed, to contribute to the success of Tangerine Press. R

7. Remain current with children’s trends and apply insight and knowledge in order to develop exciting, high appeal, and appropriately written books for kids.

Qualifications

1. BA/BS degree preferred

2. Three (3) years of work or academic experience in product packaging and creative copywriting, copyediting.  Experience with marketing products to children is a plus

3. Strong organization, planning skills and exceptional attention to detail

4. Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills

5. Proficient computer skills with a focus on MS Office (knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Google Workspace)

6. Ability to quickly learn and adopt new software

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually.
