Product Design Lead (Contract)

Hybrid 1 day/week, San Francisco

Description

YBL Copilot is an AI Assistant for financial advisors. We help them spend more time giving better guidance to more clients. Use your expertise to help a $22 trillion dollar advice gap that’s leaving everyday people behind. 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Product Designer on a contract basis. As the Lead Product Designer, you will play a vital role in shaping and driving the design approach of a multi-modal AI product. 

In this role, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of product management, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership. You must be at ease working with a globally distributed team in an early-stage startup environment.

This is an emergent domain of products and you will be helping us chart new territory. 

You must be able to think novelly while drawing inspiration from the best approaches from a wide range of applications beyond enterprise financial services: chat, AI, casual gaming.You should enjoy synthesizing qualitative and quantitative feedback. You should love the practice of growing product engagement and adoption

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functional team of product management, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership
  • Work in a globally distributed team in an early-stage startup environment
  • Hit the ground running as a UX design army of one
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that effectively communicate design concepts
  • Create and finetune micro-interactions to create compelling a product experience
  • Continuously iterate on designs based on qualitative and quantitative data
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, design principles, and emerging technologies
  • Work with team overseas to create hi-fidelity implementations at a fast pace

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in growing engagement loops
  • Strong understanding of full-funnel user-acquisition and product-led growth
  • Experience in conducting scrappy user research
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic, distributed environment
  • Bias towards action and outcomes versus protocol
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial product design particularly at early stage startups
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field preferred
