AffiniPay, LLC seeks a Product Designer in Austin, TX. - This position is eligible for Employee
Referral Program
Duties: Executes tasks within the scope of a broader project under general guidance from manager,
team lead, or senior designers. Develops process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively
conceptualize and communicate how the design quality achieves the required results, engaging
methodologies and tools (such as participatory co-design) where appropriate. Selects design
methods, tools, and processes to address technical challenges, and/or the needs of users (such as:
enterprise, smb, global users, marginalized users). Influences project, program or user-centered
product decisions by actively engaging key decision makers (e.g., facilitating workshops,
crafting/delivering presentations). Addresses low-complexity problems and recommend design
and/or user solutions by applying or extending design principles, patterns, resources, and tools,
and/or creating new ones to address unmet user needs. Understands when to escalate more complex
challenges to appropriate levels of leadership when necessary. Recognizes when the solution being
proposed delivers little benefit to users, escalates appropriately, and proposes alternatives.
Develops working relationships within a team and begin participating in cross-team collaborations
with peers by sharing knowledge related to a broad set of tasks. Pairs with other UX designers to
conduct peer design critique. Executes delegated tasks related to well-defined project timelines,
goals, and objectives, and clarify assumptions with stakeholders before creating or finalizing
designs. Works with more senior UX designers to deliver design features or services that maintain
product quality and consistency and/or the unmet needs of users (such as: enterprise, smb, global
users, marginalized users). Utilizes foundational knowledge of UX design principles, style guides,
participatory design, user-centered product development, user data analysis, and primary research
methods and tools. Demonstrates clear understanding of the impact of design contributions on
product value, user needs (such as: marginalized users), business goals, and brand equity, with an
awareness of when to seek additional support and guidance.
Telecommuting Permitted.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information
Management, Graphic Design, or a related field and 3 years of experience in related occupations.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept a Master's degree in Human-Computer
Interaction, Information Management, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field and 6
months of experience in related occupations. Requires 6 months of experience with the following:
creating wireframes, prototypes and design mockups; conducting user research and testing;
creating user personas, conducting usability testing, and using data to inform design decisions;
identifying and solving design problems; using design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite,
Figma, or similar tools; HTML, CSS, GitHub & Javascript frameworks such as React.js; creating
visual designs for websites, apps and other digital products; understanding user interface design
principles; working with developers and understanding the technical limitations of different
platforms; collaborating with other designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders;
working in a team and receiving feedback; and understanding design systems and how they can be
used to create consistent and scalable designs. Employer will accept 6 months of coursework,
internships and/or school projects that document knowledge of required skills in lieu of 6 months
of work experience. Telecommuting permitted.
