Job Summary

The Product Development Program Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Chief of Staff, Product Development, by driving operational efficiency, financial planning, and strategic execution across the product development organization. This role will oversee product development planning, process optimization, standardization initiatives, and ongoing strategic projects.


Additionally, the Portfolio Program Manager will be responsible for managing departmental reporting at weekly, monthly, and quarterly intervals, assisting with documentation to support roadmaps, and developing educational materials to align stakeholders across the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Program & Portfolio Management: Assist in planning and managing product development programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives. 
  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Support financial planning processes, tracking budgets, forecasting expenditures, and ensuring alignment with business priorities. 
  • Process Optimization & Standardization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization across product development teams to increase efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Strategic Project Execution: Lead and coordinate cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables are met. 
  • Departmental Reporting: Manage and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting processes, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) and departmental goals are tracked and communicated effectively. 
  • Product Development Team Reporting Standardization: Optimize reporting frameworks to ensure consistent, accurate, and actionable insights across product development 
  • Documentation & Roadmap Support: Assist in standardization of content, publishing, maintaining, and organizing documentation to support product roadmaps, strategy, and execution. 
  • Educational & Training Materials: Develop training materials, presentations, and other resources to educate internal stakeholders on product development processes and strategic initiatives. 
  • Release Support: coordinating, managing, and assisting with program release plans to ensure readiness for seasonal launches, including education.  
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work cross-functionally with product managers, finance, engineering, and other teams to ensure alignment and execution of strategic priorities. 
  • Risk & Issue Management: Track & identify potential risks and roadblocks in product development initiatives and collaborate with teams to mitigate issues proactively. 
  • Provide initial and interim planning, governance, and management for product development quarterly, bi-annual, and annual planning for R&D investments.  
  • Work with Product Management and Engineering teams to build a clear and concise model to enable roadmap delivery excellence. 
  • Continuously improve and innovate program management practice and methodology including pace, cost, and quality. 
  • Define and track interdependencies between programs to ensure synchronized execution on project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated product delivery plan. 
  • Support planning, coordination, and content create of annual user conference for product development discovery and innovation sessions. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. 
  • 5+ years' experience implementing a variety of technical projects and programs. 
  • Preferred background in SaaS platforms and products. 
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Jellyfish), data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and financial tracking tools. 
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze data, track performance metrics, and drive insights to support decision-making. 
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Senior Executive Interaction: Experience partnering and working with senior and executive leadership in cross-functional environment.  
  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority. 
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing business needs, and develop creative solutions to challenges. 
  • Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement. 
  • The ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast paced, rapidly changing environment is necessary. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred professional certification in project/program management: PMP.  
  • Preferred experience with agile methodologies.  
  • Preferred experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.  

Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • Remote
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 25% travel.    
  • Periods of stress may occur.  
  •  Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor.  
  • Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel.
