Job Category

Modernize Home Services is seeking an experienced Product Manager to support strategic initiatives that accelerate the roadmap for our Inbound Calls product. This role will help shape the capabilities, reach, and impact of the calls product for both the homeowner (B2C) and contractor (B2B) audiences. You'll serve as a critical bridge between customer experience, homeowner experience, engineering, and operations, owning what drives the product's success and turning it into action. You'll work closely with subject matter experts across the business to deeply understand the product landscape, validate assumptions through product discovery and testing, and translate insights into clear, actionable priorities. This is an ideal fit for a builder who pairs bold product vision with relentless execution. You're proactive by nature, able to construct a strong roadmap from the ground up with a sharp eye toward market opportunity, and unafraid to think and act big to drive real, platform-level growth. You're also fluent in both the consumer and business sides of the calls space, bringing genuine competitive and market research chops to the table.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Vision
  • Build and own the product roadmap, translating company objectives into actionable, KPI-driven priorities.
  • Bring deep fluency in the calls space from both the consumer, business/contractor, and publisher sides, grounded in strong competitor and market research.
  • Define clear success metrics for the user funnel and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not just output.
Product Execution
  • Lead product initiatives across the full product journey — from homeowner discovery through contractor connection.
  • Craft clear, comprehensive PRDs that communicate requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical needs in ways that enable swift and seamless engineering execution.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, design, and call center teams to ship high-quality improvements reliably and on time.
  • Drive adoption of the product, from both the homeowner and contractor side, by identifying and removing friction across the user journey and having direct conversations with clients about how the product is performing against their business and marketing goals.
Testing and Experimentation
  • Design and execute rigorous A/B tests and controlled experiments to validate product hypotheses.
  • Analyze results with precision, making sharp, data-informed decisions on what to scale, optimize, or cut.
  • Maintain an agile "ship-and-learn" mentality — moving with speed while holding a clear bar for product quality — with the ability to quickly redirect and pivot from underperforming experiments.
AI-Powered Solutions
  • Leverage AI tools and platforms to automate workflows across the calls product and operations to drive efficiency and speed.
  • Prototype and test product concepts using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) to rapidly validate ideas and communicate vision to cross-functional teams.
Product Analytics and Insights
  • Run and present product analytics reports that track and create visibility into product success metrics.
  • Use data to inform roadmap prioritization and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Command stakeholder conversations with sharp reporting of results and insights, paired with clear, actionable next steps that get teams moving fast on learnings.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Communication
  • Serve as the bridge across engineering, operations, account management, and product — rallying stakeholders around a clear plan, even when priorities compete, to drive real, meaningful change.
  • Communicate roadmap strategy and hard tradeoffs to executives and stakeholders with enough clarity and precision that people trust it and act on it.
  • Remove blockers and keep complex workflows, timelines, and dependencies organized with discipline, so teams stay aligned and moving forward.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of product management experience, with a track record of managing multiple products or features simultaneously.
  • Roadmap-building expertise; demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous, multi-layered problems into clear, actionable priorities.
  • Highly competent in competitive and market research, with fluency in both the consumer and business/customer sides of a product.
  • Proven ability to design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and data-driven experiments to inform product decisions.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; comfortable making decisions with imperfect data.
  • Demonstrated experience with product analytics platforms and metrics (adoption, churn, conversion, engagement).
  • Excellent communicator who can align and activate cross-functional teams, as well as clearly articulate roadmap strategy, progress, and tradeoffs.
  • Confident speaking directly with clients/contractors about product performance and its impact on their business.
  • Experience in agile or fast-paced environments with the judgment to balance speed of execution against product quality.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI tools to both build AI-powered features into products and create automation workflows that accelerate day-to-day productivity.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership without waiting to be asked, and manages up effectively with leadership.
Preferred
  • Experience with calls- or call-center-driven products.
  • Experience in home services, lead generation, or B2B marketplace products.
  • Proficiency with product analytics tools like Heap and Growthbook.
  • Hands-on experience building PRDs and technical specifications for engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with Claude AI or similar AI tools for rapid prototyping and product validation.
