Position Overview
Applied Systems Canada, Inc., a leader in insurance technology, is searching for Product Manager to focus on a suite of products primarily used for the bi-directional transfer of underwriting, financial, customer or personal data between the Comparative Applied Rating Service Software (ARS Software), or other Applied Systems Canada designed application, and a third-party application such as the rating engine and backend upload to portal at a given insurer. The web service can be used to develop quotations for any line of business, policy form, and/or product for a given Insurer that is currently available through the Applied Software.

What You'll Do
- Considering the needs of all client constituents, both internal and external, with the goal of delivering software to clients of all sizes, small as well as global in nature. Understands, supports, and delivers on the corporate roadmap, vision, and goals
- Collaborate with Product Management to establish product release vision, breaking down release-level themes/initiatives into features and user stories
- Communicates release-level business needs to teams and stakeholders; sets appropriate acceptance criteria to meet business needs for minimum viable to market
- Works with clients and stakeholders to gather business needs and elicit, translate and simplify into requirements.
- Plans, monitors, and analyzes the requirements throughout the roadmap and release planning, ensuring development teams can be continually fed.
- Works with peers & Product Management regarding cross-team dependencies. Consistently mindful of improving portfolio interests, not just product interests.
- Supports a continuous feedback loop from Customer to Product Management to Product Owner & scrum team - stakeholders to team, in the course of sprints and release development, and successfully closes feedback loop with stakeholders.
- Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others, mentoring, articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others.
- R esponsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Take on projects with greater complexity, risk, and importance to the product owner.
- Advanced level responsibility in helping stakeholders to make informed decisions involving business strategies using analysis, planning, and scoping initiatives.
- Builds and maintains storyboards for utilization in communication with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide project-level analysis - producing required project analysis documentation, including business requirements, scope matrix, UAT, and deployment plans.

Your experience may include:
- 4+ years of experience in Product Management.
- Demonstrated advanced ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects.
- Written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills.
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts such as XSLT, XML, AL3, CSIO, API, REST, JSON, SOAP, GitLab, Octopus Deploy, OAuth, Power BI, Datadog, and GCP concepts.
- The ability to demonstrate and maintain an advanced understanding of insurance underwriting and rating concepts.
- The ability to learn the full suite of Applied Rating Services products.
- Business case development.
- Modeling techniques and methods, understands statistical relevance, and survey methods.
- Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically. Save

- Proven ability to be a good listener and make clear decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (MBA a plus)
You may have other skills or credentials, including:
- Experience with APIs.
- Experience with JIRA or similar tools.
- Insurance industry exposure a plus but not required.

- Candidate will need to reside in North America, working arrangement will be hybrid/remote
