Vertafore is seeking a highly strategic and customer-focused Product Manager to drive roadmap strategy and gap identification for the BenefitPoint product. This role is a senior individual contributor responsible for shaping product direction by identifying customer pain points, usability gaps, and workflow inefficiencies that materially impact customer value.
The Product Manager partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and Sales to influence roadmap priorities and ensure BenefitPoint investments deliver measurable improvements in usability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role does not have direct reports and operates through influence, insight, and cross-functional collaboration.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Gap Identification
  • Analyze customer feedback, market trends, competitive insights, and product performance data to identify usability challenges and functional gaps.
  • Synthesize insights into clear, actionable product strategy recommendations.
  • Translate customer and operational pain points into well-defined roadmap opportunities that improve end-user workflows.

Product Strategy & Roadmap Influence
  • Define and maintain a strategic view of BenefitPoint roadmap priorities in partnership with Product Management.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to evaluate initiatives based on customer impact, feasibility, and business alignment.
  • Influence roadmap decisions by providing data-driven insights and clear articulation of customer value.

Customer-Centric Collaboration
  • Partner with Customer Success, Support, and Sales teams to validate strategic priorities and ensure alignment with real-world customer needs.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on employee benefits workflows, customer use cases, and BenefitPoint-specific pain points.
  • Advocate for product enhancements that simplify processes and improve day-to-day operations for agencies and brokers.

Cross-Functional Leadership (Individual Contributor)
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to Product leadership and the BenefitPoint Product team.
  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams by clearly communicating strategy, tradeoffs, and rationale behind recommendations.
  • Support transparency and accountability through clear documentation and stakeholder communication.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data, feedback, and qualitative insights into actionable product strategy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience driving initiatives that improve product usability and reduce operational friction.
  • Deep familiarity with BenefitPoint and employee benefits workflows.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in product strategy, product planning, roadmap development, or product management within SaaS or insurance technology.
  • Background in Employee Benefits and/or Insurance strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with planning and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, or Smartsheet.

Additional Requirements and Details:• Travel is required up to 25% of the time.• Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis.• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.• Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).• Frequent sitting and/or standing.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics.
