This position is 100% remote anywhere in the US

Overview:  The Product Manager leads strategy and roadmap for a product portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals. The portfolio focus is on performance optimization, operational visibility, and resource planning. Candidates should be strategic thinkers with technical expertise in IBM z/OS or Enterprise Capacity Management.

What you will do:

  • Accountable for gathering, evaluating, and prioritizing customer needs, as well as incorporating market and competitive insights to develop product requirements that position the company for a distinct competitive advantage.
  • Responsible for collecting requirements from prospective clients, evaluators, existing customers, and internal stakeholders; drafting user requirements; defining scenarios to address identified needs; and preparing Product Requirements documentation.
  • Oversees project teams tasked with implementing the products and features defined within the product requirements.
  • Monitors the actions, announcements, and strategies of competitors and collaborates with Product Marketing to effectively communicate the product’s unique value proposition to customers.
  • Communicates product features and benefits to both internal and external audiences.
  • Manages customer feature requests by evaluating their relevance and priority for inclusion in the product roadmap backlog.
  • Presents product roadmaps to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners in a clear and strategic manner.
  • Remains informed of current industry trends, emerging technologies, and established best practices to consistently improve product offerings.
  • Consistently assess and enhance processes and procedures to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of product development.

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor Degree in related field
  • Experience with Product Management or formal Product Management training
  • Communication skills with an ability to adjust communication to the intended audience. A comfort with technical and non-technical communications on the same or related issues is necessary.
  • Candidate must be capable of collecting information from multiple sources and integrating the information to find creative ways to meet individual user needs while maintaining product value to a broad audience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in Product Management in a software company with an understanding of Product development and QA processes.
  • A strong knowledge and experience with the z/OS ecosystem or Capacity Management is preferred.
