SavvyMoney is a leading San Francisco East Bay fintech company. We provide integrated credit score and personal finance solutions to 1,600 + bank and credit union partners nationally. The SavvyMoney solutions integrate with more than 43 digital banking platforms.

SavvyMoney was recently recognized by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Journal as one of the "Top 25 Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay Area" and is an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Company.

Our corporate office is located in Dublin, CA, and we offer a hybrid work environment, allowing for a balance of weekly in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility

We are looking for a Product Owner II to join our product team and take ownership of our pre-approved marketing product—the experience that powers how our financial institution partners deliver pre-approved credit offers to their customers. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery and business strategy, working closely with engineers, designers, QA, and go-to-market teams to translate product vision into well-defined, high-quality deliverables.

As a Product Owner II at SavvyMoney, you will be involved in agile ceremonies, own the product backlog, and be the primary voice of the business to your development squad. You will partner closely with Product Managers and the squad focused on our lending & deposits ecosystem. You will also play a collaborative role in shaping the future of our Offer Center product, which today supports pre-approved offers and is being roadmapped to support additional product offers.

Responsibilities -
Requirements Gathering & Documentation

  • Partner with the Product Manager, internal stakeholders, and go-to-market teams to gather, document, and validate product requirements.

  • Transform mid-to-high-level Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) from key stakeholders into detailed, low-level PRDs—including edge cases, dependencies, and integration considerations.

  • Create comprehensive epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria from detailed PRDs; keep all documentation current as requirements evolve.

Backlog Management & Prioritization

  • Own and maintain a healthy, prioritized product backlog that aligns with overall product strategy and roadmap commitments.

  • Make real-time prioritization decisions in response to changing business needs, technical discoveries, or partner feedback.

  • Continuously refine backlog items to ensure the squad is always working on the highest-value, best-understood stories.

Sprint Planning & Agile Ceremonies

  • Run agile ceremonies in partnership with your Technical Program Manager—sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Drive squad velocity by removing blockers, maintaining clarity on goals, and fostering a high-performing team culture.

  • Lead communications during sprint reviews, clearly conveying what was delivered and why it matters.

Stakeholder Communication & Rollout Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between the development squad and business stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding of scope, status, and expectations.

  • Proactively collaborate with market-facing teams (sales, customer success, marketing) on feature roll-out plans, timing, and partner communications.

  • Coordinate with the offers squad and Product Managers to ensure alignment on shared products such as Offer Center.

Testing, Validation & Quality

  • Partner with QA teams to define test cases and acceptance criteria for all user stories.

  • Participate in acceptance testing activities to confirm that delivered features meet specified requirements before release.

  • Champion quality standards within the squad, ensuring edge cases and corner scenarios are addressed during refinement—not discovered post-launch.

Product Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date product documentation, including release notes, user guides, and functional specifications.

  • Ensure documentation is accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences and reflects the current state of the product.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Use data and analytics to measure product performance, identify improvement opportunities, and inform prioritization decisions.

  • Partner with the Product Manager to define and track key product metrics; regularly communicate results and learnings to squad members and leadership.

  • Leverage squad velocity metrics to identify bottlenecks, improve delivery predictability, and continuously raise team output quality.

Qualifications -

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience in a product owner or product management role, with a strong focus on requirements refinement, story definition, and backlog management.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with agile methodologies and hands-on experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex business requirements into actionable engineering work.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading meetings and presenting to cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and make confident, data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Background in consumer lending, personal finance, or the credit reporting space.

  • Experience working on customer-facing offer or marketing platforms (e.g., pre-approved or pre-qualified financial product experiences).

  • Familiarity with offer engines, recommendation systems, or conversion funnel optimization in a fintech context.

Base salary

The annual base salary for this position is $130,000 to $145,000 based on experience and geography.
