Product Owner – AgencyRoot 📍 Remote + 15% Travel (US-based; excluding CA, HI, and AK)

The Opportunity

If you've spent years working in crop insurance and found yourself thinking there has to be a better way to do this — this role was built for you.

Ever.Ag is looking for a Product Owner who brings deep crop insurance industry knowledge and a genuine passion for building software that makes agents' and customers' lives easier. You won't be translating someone else's vision — you'll be shaping it. On a lean, collaborative team where product sits at the center of everything, your fingerprints will be on what gets built, when it launches, and how it lands with customers.

This is a role for someone who loves the puzzle: listening carefully, thinking critically, and finding elegant solutions to problems that don't have obvious answers. If you're excited — not intimidated — by how AI is changing software development, even better!

What You'll Do

You'll own the full product lifecycle for your assigned projects — from idea to backlog to launch and beyond. Day to day, that looks like:

  • Setting and defending priorities in the product backlog based on customer needs, business commitments, and product vision
  • Translating customer and stakeholder input into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements
  • Collaborating closely with developers and architects to scope, refine, and estimate work — and making sure what ships actually delivers the intended value
  • Building mockups and prototypes to bring ideas to life before a single line of code is written
  • Presenting demos to internal and external audiences and documenting new features through release notes, learning guides, and user documentation
  • Testing delivered features to confirm they meet acceptance criteria and supporting user acceptance testing
  • Staying current on your product's capabilities and serving as the internal go-to expert
  • Advocating relentlessly for the customer — even when that means pushing back

What You Bring

  • Crop insurance industry experience is required. You understand the workflows, the terminology, the regulatory landscape, and the pain points. You can speak the language of an agent or adjuster — and you use that knowledge to build better software.
  • 5+ years in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role supporting software development teams required
  • Strong ability to listen, synthesize, document, and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfort working through ambiguity — you don't need a perfect playbook to do great work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and training

Why AgencyRoot by Ever.Ag

  • Small team, big impact. You'll be one of three people on the product team — your work won't get lost in layers of bureaucracy.
  • A seat at the table. Product is central to what AgencyRoot does. You'll work directly with leadership, customers, sales, and development — not in isolation.
  • Real variety. No two projects look alike. Some will move the revenue needle; others will quietly save the company money or make operations more efficient. Both matter here.
  • AI is on the roadmap — in a real way. We're actively rethinking how the product development cycle works in the age of AI, and we want someone who wants to help define that, not resist it.
  • A team that actually talks to each other. The full AgencyRoot team connects weekly — collaboration here is genuine, not a buzzword.
