What You’ll Be Doing

As a Production Support Engineer II on the US Risk Technology team, you will support our anti-money laundering (AML) platform built using SAS Viya 3.5. This platform is used for customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days may be remote.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Application Support - investigate application issues; prioritize incidents based on impact and severity. Identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Apply IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices for incident, change, and problem management.

  • Database Support – write complex SQL queries; troubleshoot extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines.

  • Cloud Computing – manage Linux virtual machines and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure.

  • Release Management – oversee production changes affecting CIBC’s SAS Viya AML platform, including bug fixes and version upgrades.

  • Service Continuity – perform disaster recovery tests.

  • Collaboration – build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.

  • Communication – express technical concepts to non-technical audiences with precision and clarity.

  • Continuous Learning – stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, changes in the banking industry, and regulatory developments.

Who You Are

  • You possess 1-2 years of technical experience in application or production support within banking of financial services environment.

  • Experience with Linux virtual machines and command-line interface, writing SQL queries, and a technical understanding of cloud computing (preferably Azure) is required. 

  • It is an asset if you bring experience or familiarity with SAS Viya and relevant certifications. CIBC encourages completion of the SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya exam, as well as relevant Microsoft Azure training.

  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $83,100- $115,400 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
