What is the role?

Michaels Energy is seeking a Program Analyst based in Chicago to support energy efficiency program work. This position requires collecting, organizing, and analyzing information and data from energy efficiency and decarbonization programs as well as assisting with day-to-day program operations, data entry, administrative tasks, documentation, and reporting. The position works closely with the Program Management and delivery teams to assist in creating and delivering program plans, tracking budgets and KPIs, and program reporting. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.


  • Program and project delivery
    • Work closely with Program Management to help deliver an assigned portfolio of energy efficiency programs.
    • Manage day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, including program tracking, reports, notes, communicating action items, project set-up, follow-up, and scheduling.
    • Manage initiatives with limited direction.
    • Be knowledgeable of and able to answer questions on the status of projects, initiatives, and deliverables tied to program delivery.
    • Work closely with cross-functional program delivery teams to achieve goals, drive program deliverables, and create a positive customer experience.
    • Contribute data and insights to reports and presentations for clients

  • Data analytics
    • Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
    • Develop processes surrounding data to enhance delivery efficiency
    • Ensure data integrity
    • Assist with data forecasting
    • Assist with metric tracking
    • Assist with program and portfolio analytics
    • Act as an SME for assigned program and portfolio-related data

How do you contribute?

After 3 months, you will have...

  • Completed onboarding to Michaels Energy as a company and the Program Management team
  • Met with and established relationships with the program management and delivery team members
  • Gained access to all necessary client tools and software
  • Establish foundational knowledge of assigned programs and associated processes

After 6 months, you will have...

  • Learned the ins and outs of client and program specific tools and software
  • Completed entry level special projects
  • Identified basic improvements to current processes surrounding data

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 0-2 years of industry or equivalent experience
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
  • Able to work independently with limited direction
  • Able to communicate and help deliver plans and projects for program delivery
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • MS Office, especially Excel
  • Power BI and/or Tableau data visualization
  • Coursework or basic experience in data analysis, database management and/or data cleaning
  • Coursework, basic experience, or interest in the energy industry, including but not limited to energy efficiency, clean energy, decarbonization, sustainability, or climate change mitigation

Pay Range

  • $75,000 – $90,000
