About the Position

Flinders University is seeking a Program Lead, Community Development & Wellbeing Program, to provide leadership and coordination for the Community Development & Wellbeing Program (CDP), a student-led field education initiative supporting the Mental Health Pathway to Practice Program. The role ensures high-quality, consistent placement delivery that enables students to develop professional identity, capability, and confidence in community development and mental health promotion practice.

As the Program Lead, Community Development & Wellbeing Program, you will:

  • Provide program-level leadership and coordination across the CDP, ensuring consistent placement delivery across cohorts and stakeholders.

  • Guide Student Social Workers through placement phases including orientation, co-design, implementation, evaluation, and handover.

  • Support Team Leads and stakeholders with placement delivery, risk management, workload monitoring, and student support.

  • Lead program evaluation, reporting, continuous improvement, and oversight of program documentation and resources.

About You

You are an experienced social work or community development practitioner with strong capability in field education, mental health promotion, and student support. You are confident working across complex stakeholder environments and are committed to high-quality, inclusive, and student-centred practice.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant qualification in Social Work or a related discipline and eligibility for AASW membership, with at least two years post-qualification experience.

  • Strong understanding of AASW Practice Standards, community development principles, and mental health promotion approaches.

  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting students or early-career practitioners in placement or practice settings.

  • Highly developed communication, coordination, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
