The Project Developer will manage development of community solar and small utility-scale solar energy projects throughout the United States.

Responsibilities ⚙️

  • Develop and manage relationships with landowners, community stakeholders and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals
  • Manage third-party consultants, attorneys, and vendors involved in the permitting and land acquisition processes
  • Oversee all permitting processes for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Coordinate with legal, environmental, and technical teams to ensure that all necessary studies, surveys, and documentation are completed to support permitting and land acquisition efforts
  • Monitor and manage timelines and budgets for permitting and environmental studies to meet project deadlines
  • Engage with local governments, public officials, and community groups to address concerns, communicate project benefits, and ensure community buy-in
  • Stay up to date on regulatory and policy changes that impact land acquisition and permitting for renewable energy projects
  • Overcome site and regulatory challenges at complex sites in order to ensure project success

Requirements  🎓

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field; A Master’s degree is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on permitting, land acquisition, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage the development of multiple projects concurrently
  • Working knowledge of land use regulations, environmental permitting processes, and zoning laws
  • Working knowledge of solar and BESS equipment and project construction processes
  • Proven experience negotiating contracts including land options, easements, and development service agreements
  • Experience with brownfield and landfill solar development is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with landowners, government officials, and community stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, including NEPA, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other relevant laws
  • Ability to travel as required for site visits, landowner meetings, and engagement with regulatory agencies

The annual base salary for this position is $95,000 – $120,000. Reactivate considers several factors when determining base pay offers such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibility of the role, candidate’s work experience and/or education, training and certifications among other key skills at the time of offer.
