As a Project Engineer Intern, you will work directly with Project Managers/Project Engineers to learn all the duties, responsibilities, and functions necessary to successfully complete an industrial construction project. This is a very hands-on, valuable, and exciting opportunity! This is a minimum 12-week program (with possibility to extend if mutually desired), typically 40 hours a week, with potential overtime pending on project needs. We are seeking Interns for 2026 in all of our locations including Arizona, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oregon.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpreting blueprints & drawings, contracts, specifications, and regulations
  • Estimating costs, materials purchasing, bids, and proposals
  • Handling invoice approvals, quotes, and change orders
  • Labor productivity analytics
  • Safety audits
  • Quality audits
  • Project controls & preparing & managing scheduling
  • Assisting Superintendents & preconstruction staff
  • Researching new products, equipment, vendors, etc.
  • Tracking job progress and developing plans to address delays
  • Reporting work progress and budget matters to project managers and/or clients
  • Leading process improvement, cost-cutting, Lean or other projects
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuit of degree in Construction Engineering/Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A desire to work in the Industrial construction industry as a future field/construction Project Engineer.
  • A strong work ethic, responsible attitude, strong people/communication skills, team player, ability to think analytically and problem solve.
