ABOUT TERREVA RENEWABLES:
Terreva Renewables is an industry-leading developer, owner, and operator of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company leverages technology to capture methane gas from landfills and convert it to renewable natural gas. Its senior management team has over 40 years of collective experience developing RNG projects, as well as extensive additional experience in landfill gas-to-electricity projects, gas collection and control systems, and midstream oil and gas operations. Terreva’s current portfolio is comprised of seven assets – approximately 20,000 scfm of raw landfill gas flow and 3.5 million MMBtu’s per year of RNG production (2025E) – in operation and construction across North America. Terreva is a portfolio company under the management of CIM Group, LLC.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Project Engineer supports the development, engineering, construction, and commissioning of Terreva’s renewable natural gas (RNG) projects. Specifically, this role is responsible for providing hands‑on engineering support across the RNG project lifecycle – from development and detailed design through construction, startup, and transition to operations – while coordinating closely with internal teams, contractors, technology providers, and host facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Project Engineering & Design Support
    • Support the engineering execution of landfill‑ and biogas‑based RNG projects, including gas collection and control systems (GCCS), gas upgrading, compression, interconnection, and balance‑of‑plant systems
    • Review and coordinate engineering deliverables such as process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment datasheets, layouts, and utility requirements
    • Assist with technology evaluations and selection for biogas upgrading, gas treatment, compression, and metering systems consistent with Terreva’s platform
    • Review vendor and contractor submittals for technical compliance with project requirements and Terreva engineering standards
    • Project Execution & Construction Support
      • Interface with Terreva’s development, construction, and operations teams to ensure engineering aligns with project budgets, schedules, and constructability requirements
      • Support construction activities through RFI responses, field coordination, site visits, and resolution of technical issues
      • Track engineering deliverables, action items, and changes to support overall project execution
      • Participate in commissioning, startup, performance testing, and handover of RNG facilities to operations
      • Regulatory, Safety & Compliance
        • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing RNG facilities, including environmental permits, pipeline interconnection requirements, and safety standards
        • Assist with hazard analyses, constructability reviews, and quality assurance processes
        • Ensure designs and field execution comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA, DOT, EPA)
        • Operations & Asset Support
          • Provide ongoing technical support to Terreva’s operating RNG facilities, including troubleshooting, optimization, and evaluation of capital improvements
          • Assist with data analysis related to gas quality, throughput, uptime, and overall plant performance
          • Support standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across Terreva’s RNG portfolio
          • Support documentation upkeep to include P&ID review and management-of-change reporting of process improvements
          • Provide instrumentation and controls support to third party controls vendors, integrators and site personnel

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental, or a related discipline) required
  • 2–5 years of experience in project engineering, process engineering, construction support, or similar roles
  • Experience in RNG, biogas, landfill gas, natural gas, energy infrastructure, or environmental projects strongly preferred
  • Exposure to owner‑operator or design‑build project environments a plus
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
  • OSHA safety training or similar construction safety credentials a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Flexible, independent, self-motivated individual, able to multi-task, and provide leadership to others
  • Working knowledge of industrial process systems, mechanical equipment, piping, instrumentation, and controls
  • Familiarity with renewable natural gas, landfill gas, biogas, or natural gas infrastructure projects
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Understanding of construction practices and project delivery models
  • Proficiency with engineering and project tools such as AutoCAD, engineering calculation tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external partners
  • Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset with a willingness to engage in field‑based engineering work
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required
