Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Partner with FSP project teams and resource managers to develop, maintain, and refine project forecasts, ensuring alignment between staffing plans and financial projections
  • Analyze gross margin performance at the project and portfolio level, identifying risks, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare and present regular financial reporting packages to FSP leadership, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, and margin analysis
  • Monitor resource utilization and headcount trends to support accurate financial forecasting

Billing & Revenue Management

  • Own the end-to-end monthly billing process for assigned FSP projects, ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with contractual terms
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather and validate time, expense, and milestone data required for billing
  • Resolve billing discrepancies in partnership with clients, accounts receivable, and project managers
  • Maintain billing documentation and audit trails in accordance with internal controls

Proposals, Change Orders & Contract Renewals

  • Support the FSP business development team in preparing financial models and budgets for new business proposals and RFP responses
  • Develop and process change orders when project scope, resources, or timelines shift, ensuring changes are accurately reflected in financial systems and client agreements
  • Assist in the financial analysis and preparation of contract renewals, including pricing reviews and margin assessments
  • Collaborate with Legal, Contracts, and Operations to ensure financial terms are aligned across all agreement documents

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships with FSP project managers, delivery leads, and operations teams to stay ahead of project-level financial developments
  • Serve as a trusted financial resource for project teams, providing guidance on budget management and cost awareness
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the FSP finance function, including process automation, reporting enhancements, and best practice development

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in project finance, financial analysis, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and project-based billing
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-finance audiences

Preferred

  • Experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment
  • Familiarity with FSP or staff augmentation business models
  • Experience with Workday as an ERP system
  • Exposure to contract review and change order processes
