Role Summary/Purpose 

The Senior Project Management Manager leads Project Managers for delivering upgrade projects execution with performances, and productivity initiatives cross the APAC region.

In this role, you will lead the team of Project Managers to execute upgrade projects of various GE equipment. Your responsibility is to execute upgrade projects on time with margin improvement by meeting regional targets. You are expected to support Project Managers to collaborate with stakeholders in Engineering, Shops, Region team, and enabling functions to ensure smooth project execution. This execution starts from project tendering until closeout and fleet feedback.

In addition to the leadership role of leading project managers, you will need to take the project manager’s role in some projects where required. 

You are expected to demonstrate project management expertise, lead your team and set expectations, deliver the financial performances and grow the team, identity and develop talents.

You are reporting to the APAC Region Leader.

What we’ll expect from you

  • Lead Project Managers to execute upgrade projects with planned budgets and time schedules. Be responsible on financial results and on time completion of Upgrade projects.   
  • Develop and manage the Project Margin Improvement targets of APAC, Cascade to Project level, and set detail action plans with Project managers to achieve the target.
  • Drive project managers to develop project time schedule with float and set detail action plans to achieve on time or early completion.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sourcing, Shops, ITR managers, ITR directors, and ITR Leaders with effective communication to support Project Managers on both offshore and onshore scope execution of upgrade projects
  • Collaborate ITR Directors to ensure full integration of execution team in upgrade projects. Ensure the planning, executing, closeout, and fleet feedback comply with Outage End to End process.    
  • Supervise Project Managers to coordinate with and get supports from EHS, Quality, Finance, Commercial Operations, and Legal to manage upgrade project contracts with execution excellence.
  • Ensure Project Manager’s ownership and accountability on their in-charge projects, the Project Manager’s leadership across the project team and stakeholders.
  • Take Project Manager’s role and responsibilities listed above in those projects you lead.
  • Establish tools, templates, processes to make project managers report risks / action items and to track overall progress of all projects.
  • Evaluate team and individual performance for compliance with established priorities, business objectives and contributions in attaining organization goals.
  • Early engage upgrade opportunities after R1, support Sales and Commercial Operation team on tendering, risk assessment, cost estimation by assigning project managers for upcoming offers
  • Drive productivity initiatives on upgrades projects for APAC
  • Delegate work assignments and responsibility to the team member; empower team member to work independently; set expectations and monitor delegated activities, recognize and rewards achievements.
  • Build talent pipeline and develop leaders.
  • Continuous improvement and development.

You bring a strong background

  • Engineering Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken),
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-profile, dynamic cross functional projects with multiple constituents and involving in Engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to develop project management tools, templates and metrics used to manage and monitor large scale projects
  • Professional experience in Project Management,
  • At least 5 years of experience in power plant equipment project execution, engineering, testing and commissioning
