The Project Manager will lead in the coordination and execution of project- and product-related tasks across departments and reports to the VP of Engineering. This role will act as a facilitator for planning, scheduling, informing and day-to-day execution on projects at Neighborhoods.com.

The Project Manager is responsible for working with the project management team on resource allocation and planning to meet upcoming project objectives, including working with various departments to scope, schedule and execute tasks. This is a central role in managing initiatives that are crucial to the success of our products and our company.

Essential Functions:

  • Working with the project management team in the planning, coordination, scheduling and execution of projects, including participating in sprint planning with our design and development teams.
  • Acting as a go-to resource for status on in-progress needs. The project manager must be comfortable reporting on schedule, critical path, risks, tradeoffs, resource allocation and overall status of projects.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of projects and tasks
  • Planning project timelines in coordination with the project management, engineering, and design teams
  • Maintaining a tight feedback loop with stakeholders and leadership
  • Help prioritize incoming needs and tickets, deflecting distractions and determining impacts of new priorities on existing priorities. An essential component of this role is ensuring that priorities stay in check as new needs come in and ensuring resources are aligned with the current prioritization.
  • Ensuring project resources are on-task. The project manager should recognize if a resource is running behind or if distractions with other issues are occurring and be proactive in helping the resource get back on track.
  • Managing project priorities, schedules and status meetings both with implementation resources and with product owners.
  • Filtering, validating and prioritizing requests as they are inbound into a department
  • Proactively Identifying areas for improvement in our project planning and execution workflows and leading in implementing any necessary changes with other departments

Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience in an IT project management role
  • Understanding of agile methodology and Scrum
  • Knowledge of Jira, or a similar project/task management system
  • Experience developing project timelines
  • Excellent communication skills, including conveying complex information in a simple and effective manner, ensuring team members, stakeholders and leadership are always in the know.
  • Must be able to work independently
