Your role.

The members of the Pursuit Strategy & Proposal Team serve as strategic partners in helping the firm reach its business goals. We write and design business proposals and presentations to support the firm’s business development and pursuit of new opportunities. We are seeking a candidate with strong interest in writing and marketing.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Proposal writing – Lead the proposal development process, from start to finish, by developing and writing persuasive messages based on information from research profiles, meetings with client service professionals, meetings with target companies’ staff and management, and knowledge of the firm’s offerings.
  • Project management – Serve as the central point of contact and lead or colleague project manager for assigned proposals while simultaneously managing multiple proposals and pursuit deliverables. Collaborate with client service professionals, the graphic design team, marketing professionals, and fellow pursuit strategy consultants to ensure on-time completion and a high level of quality.
  • Finalist presentations – Lead the presentation prep process by helping client service professionals develop talking points and deliverables. Effectively lead and coach internal dry runs.
  • Content management – Work with proposal content team leader to maintain updated content; serve as a resource to pursuit consultants, providing content as needed for complex proposals; write new material for proposal content library as needed.

The qualifications.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of increasing responsibility and demonstrable business writing experience, including the development of proposals in a professional services or corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration, or other related subject area from an accredited college or university
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications desirable
  • Available in Metro Detroit, Chicago, and Denver areas

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience is provided in accordance with applicable state requirement. Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO or IL. Please review the position location for the applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows: $5,416.67 - $7,250.00

Illinois monthly base range is as follows: $5,625.00 - $7,500.00
