At AvePoint, we are committed to investing in our people: we believe agility, passion, and teamwork set us up to do our best work and foster a culture where you feel empowered to take initiative, learn from others, and craft your career with intention to unleash the power of you!

What You'll Be Doing

As a Prototype Engineer, you will rapidly design and develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions that demonstrate the art of the possible for AvePoint’s customers and internal teams. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to validate technical feasibility, explore innovative approaches, and accelerate adoption of AvePoint solutions. Once these proof-of-concept solutions have been validated, they will be handed off to the product engineering teams, who will deploy them to production environments.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and iterate on prototypes and POCs to validate new concepts and technologies.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to understand requirements and constraints.
  • Research and propose design options, documenting trade-offs and performance considerations.
  • Implement unit and system-level testing strategies to ensure quality and scalability.
  • Summarize findings and present recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Push the technical bar by experimenting with emerging technologies and frameworks relevant to AvePoint’s platform.
  • Be self-guided and disciplined in managing time, dealing well with ambiguity and leading hands-on technical work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 6+ years of software development experience with proficiency in C#, Python, TypeScript, Node, or similar languages.
  • Hands-on experience with modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and services development.
  • Practical experience building on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services and/or Google Cloud and Google Workspace services.
  • Proficiency with development tools and methodologies including GitHub Enterprise with GitHub Copilot or equivalent
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, communicate effectively, and collaborate across teams and disciplines.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and quickly ramping on unfamiliar domains.

What We Value

  • Experience with service-to-service technologies such as gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with containerization and local dev environments (e.g., Docker).
  • Experience with databases such as Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server and Cosmos DB.
  • Ability to demonstrate body of work and influence (e.g., public repos, open-source contributions, speaking engagements).

Benefits We Offer

  • Competitive market-based compensation (salary, yearly bonus + equity).
  • Career progression and internal mobility opportunities.
  • Work-life balance through a hybrid working model.
  • Unlimited PTO.

The Salary Range for this role is $125,000 - $165,000. At AvePoint, we strive to offer competitive, fair, and equitable total rewards. The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate, with final offers based on location, experience, skills, and qualifications. The listed range reflects base salary only; our total rewards include base salary, comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, unlimited PTO), and depending on the role, bonuses, commissions, or equity (RSUs). We welcome compensation discussions—apply even if your expectations fall outside the range.
