In the Agentic Era, APIs are the lifeblood of innovation. The Professional Services team at Kong is dedicated to ensuring our customers unlock the full potential of their API-first strategies. As a PS Sales Consultant, you will be critical in architecting success for our customers, driving the adoption and value realization of Kong’s cutting-edge platform through expertly positioned consulting and service solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end Professional Services sales lifecycle, from pipeline generation to deal closure, ensuring robust service attachment and customer value realization.

  • Drive pipeline growth by proactively identifying and qualifying service opportunities, leveraging MEDDPICC and Command of the Message methodologies for accurate forecasting and strategic execution.

  • Collaborate strategically with Account Executives and Solution Architects, guiding them to optimally position Kong Professional Services that accelerate customer adoption and maximize their subscription investment.

  • Architect tailored service proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) that align with customer business and technical objectives, translating complex needs into actionable, outcome-based solutions.

  • Cultivate trusted advisor relationships with senior business and technical leaders, influencing their API strategy and demonstrating the quantifiable ROI of Kong's Professional Services.

  • Lead customer discovery and scope assessment workshops, translating requirements into impactful service designs and ensuring seamless pre- and post-sales engagement.

  • Travel up to 30% to engage with customers and internal teams, fostering strong relationships and driving deal progression.

What You’ll Bring:

The Toolkit

  • 5+ years of demonstrable success in a Professional Services sales role, specializing in the sale and positioning of enterprise technology solutions and consulting services.

  • Proven experience articulating and positioning the value proposition of Professional Services offerings to both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Expertise in developing and presenting outcome-based service proposals, SOWs, and packaged offerings that directly address customer needs and drive measurable value.

  • Exceptional ability to lead customer discovery workshops, conduct scope assessments, and translate complex technical and business requirements into clear service designs.

  • Strong command of the sales process, including business case development and ROI justification.

  • Experience with Open Source, APIs, or Infrastructure technologies.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
