Position Overview:

The Windy City Bulls are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to be our Public Relations & Communications Associate for the upcoming season. The individual that fills this role will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the oversight of planning, organizing, and executing all communications & PR responsibilities prior to and during the season. We are seeking an individual who is an excellent teammate and willing to assist wherever they are needed, including other departments in the organization.

This position will start in August 2026 and continue until the conclusion of the 2026-27 season in April 2027.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in writing game notes, press releases, social media, and marketing copy.
• During the season, assist in all media requests for players and coaching staff availability. Also assist in all digital content requests for players and coaching staff.
• Serve as a liaison for local media personnel on game days and handle information requests.
• Assist in coordinating and distributing all media credential requests.
• Assist in the management of various game day employees related to communications and media relations, including scoring and statistics staff, broadcast personnel, and gameday photographers/videographers.
• On game days, assist in setup of scorer's table, coordinate player interviews with broadcast, and build then publish social media posts on Windy City Bulls platforms.
• Assist with editing and maintaining all website content to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in the development and activation of social media content. Including coming up with original content ideas and working with players, coaches, and/or fans to complete them.
• Assist in capturing content for social media channels.
• Actively participate in editing video and other content for digital media platforms.
• Participate in providing excellent fan service experiences.
• Assist Senior Coordinator with email marketing and digital marketing ad strategy.

 Qualifications: 

• Recent college graduate.
• A strong interest and knowledge of the game of basketball and communication strategies.
• A strong knowledge of the professional use of all digital social platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and video editing software programs.
• Excellent teammate who has a desire to learn.
• Positive demeanor and strong work ethic.
• Highly organized and strong time leadership skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work quickly in a dynamic, collaborative workplace.

Compensation & Benefits:

This role pays $18/hour plus commission eligibility and requires flexible work hours. The Windy City Bulls offer a relocation stipend for any candidates making a move to the state of Illinois.

The Windy City Bulls offer workplace flexibility. Full-time remote work is not an option for this role and interested applicants should be currently located in or prepared to move to the Chicagoland area. This role will require a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
