Blue Owl is looking for a strategic accounting professional to exclusively manage one of their real assets private equity funds. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company experiencing tremendous growth. The qualified Vice President will be open to new ideas and processes, and help the Company institutionalize existing practices, working with the support of a highly collaborative team.
Responsibilities
Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting for property‑level and fund‑level entities, including consolidated and parallel fund structures.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and fund documentation across all reporting periods, financial statements, and disclosures.
Review and approve quarterly net asset value calculations, price per unit, and investor allocations in accordance with fund documents.
Lead preparation and review of fund performance metrics, including returns, waterfalls, preferred returns, and carried interest calculations.
Manage financial reporting and covenant compliance for debt facilities; provide required information to lenders per loan documentation.
Serve as primary accounting contact for institutional investors, owners, and other external stakeholders.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors on year‑end audits and tax return preparation.
Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and liquidity planning, including revenue, expense, and cash flow projections.
Interpret and apply limited partnership agreements, long‑term leases, mortgage agreements, and related legal documents.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls; evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with company policies.
Lead, develop, and communicate with the fund accounting team to manage competing priorities and deliver against reporting deadlines.
Qualifications
7+ years of private equity real estate accounting experience.
Knowledge of REIT rules and tax implications, a plus.
Experience working with third-party fund administrators.
“Fair value” accounting background.
Understanding of debt agreements.
Ability to efficiently utilize excel spreadsheets and accounting software systems.
Experience interpreting limited partnership agreement, long terms lease and mortgages.
Experience with reporting investment activity to institutional investors.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
CPA preferred, not required.
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this Chicago based position will be $150,000 - $170,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
