Reconciles transactions and holdings of investment portfolios to data received from external portfolio providers, using a state-of-the-art web-based system. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure timely delivery of accurate investment information, including accounting, analytic, and compliance reports 

  • Validates investment data against available market data provided by third party sources. 

  • Manage internal and external inquiries & requests (main contacts include Treasurers & upper-level Accounting Managers) 

  • Create and maintain valuable relationships with data providers, clients, and service delivery managers 

  • Work with product teams to continually iterate and improve reconciliation tools and processes 

  • Work with data engineers to automate reconciliation processes, aiming at >90% automation 

  • Beginner to Intermediate Excel, such as performing hot keys to performing a COUNTIF or SUMIF. 

  • Identifies an automation opportunity at least twice per month (24 total per year). Either submits a case or an account config with the aid of mentors.  

  • Solid understanding of the CW End to End data flow and can identify and know the tools in the process, such as having an understanding that Scavenger feeds data to Prometheus, Prezo and Titan.  

  • Applies reconciliation procedures and best practices to resolve a variety of issues. 

  • Aware of resources that are available and correctly identifies the appropriate tools to conduct research.  

  • Understands the general CW core value proposition (aggregate, reconcile, report). 

  • Basic understanding of the front office and the accounting impacts of reconciliation options; Proficient with the "Big 3" menus and navigation.   

  • Consistently completes tasks assigned, daily reconciliation on-time and accurately, including red errors, yellow errors, ACEs, Recon Insight etc. When errors mistakes in daily work occur, proactively learns from mistakes, and works to avoid repeat mistakes going forward.  

  • Accounting: Basic understanding of investment accounting, financial statements, amortization, interest income, and other accounting Cert concepts.  

  • Finance: Basic understanding of Time Value of Money, duration, yield, returns, and risk exposures as outlined in Cert material.  

  • Asset Classes: Basic understanding of vanilla fixed income and equity investments and a deepening knowledge of various security types and/or alternative security types. -what they are, why they are used, and how they work in CW. Developing understanding of the security types commonly held by the clients they are assigned. 

  • Trusted to deliver accurate, timely, and thorough responses (Level 1) to routine inquiries in both written and verbal contexts. Audience is typically team lead level or below.  

  • Communicates effectively and timely with leadership or team when assistance is needed to meet daily deliverables.  

  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships by communicating proactively (level 2 servicing).  

  • Able to simplify most concepts when communicating with internal or external parties, keeping the audience in mind. 

  • Uses the appropriate terminology when communicating with internal or external parties.  

  • May have more senior team members review emails before sending or sit in on calls for support. Audience is typically low- or mid- level stakeholders.  

  • Follows established procedures on work, requires only general instructions only on new issues. Builds upon expertise.  

  • Able to serve as a trainer for level 1 and 2 analysts. Sphere of influence mainly own division.  

  • Can self-evaluate performance and make improvements when identified by self or by leadership.  

Requirements:   

  • Bachelor's degree in a finance-related and analytical field

  • Dynamic problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Be naturally curious

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • An intense desire to learn something new and improve on a daily basis

  • Desired Experience or Skills:

  • Finance and/or accounting experience 

  • Knowledge of GAAP and/or fixed income investments 

  • Securities or financial markets experience 

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel such as VLookUp, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, and Ribbon Utilization 

  • SQL query writing skills
