Are you passionate about books and the power they have to change lives? Do you have a proven track record in sales within the book industry? Sourcebooks is looking for an experienced Regional Indie Sales Manager to join our growing internal sales team. This role will be responsible for expanding Sourcebooks' reach, sales, and market share in their territory.
Territory Covered: Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida
Residency Requirement: Candidates must reside in Tennessee

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 /annually.  We determine starting pay based on a thorough evaluation of job-related factors, including geographic location, market conditions, relevant experience, training, and education. This process ensures a fair and competitive salary that aligns with both the company and the candidate’s qualifications.  
NOTE:  We will be reviewing application and will follow up after January 2nd, as we are out on holiday break 12/24/25 - 1/2/26
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Growing sales in the independent bookstore market to exceed sales plans and increase market share.
  • Growing POS volume to assigned goals.
  • Representing the publisher with in-person sales calls multiple times a year as well as participating in regional and national trade shows.
  • Establishing and growing relationships with key independent bookstores, the ABA, and regional independent bookstore associations.
  • Expanding the number of independent bookstore accounts ordering directly from Sourcebooks.
  • Curating individual title lists to fit the unique nature of each bookstore.
  • Reintroducing Sourcebooks essential backlist titles to the independent book market.
  • Securing prime placement, bookseller reviews, indie next nominations for Sourcebooks titles.
  • Creating regional and national bestsellers within the channel.
  • Inventory forecasting and revenue budgeting.
  • Working in partnership with the Retail Marketing department on sales promotions for independent bookstores.
  • Managing author events and book signings within your territory.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Minimum 3 years book publishing sales experience, preferably with independent bookstores.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A driven goal-oriented and collaborative team player with high attention to detail.
  • Outgoing in nature, comfortable navigating a sales call and proactively going after new business.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage many projects at once.
  • Experience in setting and driving sales strategy to meet goals.
  • Proficient in standard MS Office programs, sales reporting, and analysis.
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
  • Extensive travel required, including overnight and occasional weekends.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
