Process daily health insurance claims and reimbursements, follow up on submission issues and EFT payments, enter and document patient and account details, assist front desk and patient callbacks, respond to copay assistance program communications, and provide excellent customer service.
The Reimbursement Coordinator will support the assistance program team with processing daily health insurance claims, reimbursements, and monthly accounts receivable reports. The Reimbursement Coordinator will use self-awareness and resrouces to find creative solutions to challenges.
Schedule: Full-Time (M-F), in-person in Burr Ridge, IL
Specific Duties
- Submit health insurance claim forms and explanation of benefits to designated assistance programs for reimbursement in a timely manner.
- Follow-up with claim submission issues.
- Process payments from assistance programs using DMA Pay Terminal.
- Follow-up, track and document all EFT payments from assistance program.
- Assist Front Desk in confirming enrollement into copay assistance programs if needed.
- Respond to emails/faxes regarding all copay assistance programs.
- Enter patient information into assistance programs, document balance tansfers and add accurate, detailed notes to each account.
- Participate in patient call backs.
- Answer questions and directs other calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Provide consistent, excellent customer service.
- Pleasantly greet all patients by telephone or via email.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented, excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Must be able to multi-task, problem solve and produce high quality of work.
- Ability to read an explanation of benefits, incuding copay, coinsurance, deductible, and PR Codes.
- Must be comfortable sing the phone and speaking with peograms representative.
- Previous medical reception experience is preferred.
- Must be able to use several computer programs at once.
- Knowledgeable about asistance programs guidelines, including itmely filing, backdate period, enrollemtn period and payable drug and or administration codes.
- Knowledgeable about commerical and government insurance carriers.
- Excellent data entry and accurate keyboard skills.
- Resourceful and ability to identiy obstacles and collaborate with staff to discuss potential solutions
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
