Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Position: Release Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Release Engineer to provide Release Train Engineer (RTE) support services across multiple software projects and Agile teams. The successful candidate will coordinate teams from a product delivery perspective, facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure successful project execution across complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multiple project teams across a large program, ensuring alignment of priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments across the Agile Release Train (ART).
  
• Drive execution and governance for large-scale technology initiatives involving multiple workstreams, vendors, stakeholder groups, and geographically dispersed teams.
  
• Provide Release Train Engineer support services, including coordinating teams working on the same release product and features
  
• Help ensure multiple teams plan and execute as a single release train
  
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and impediments
  
• Facilitate release planning meetings and Scrum of Scrums sessions
  
• Resolve and escalate impediments as required
  
• Facilitate ART-level ceremonies, including:
  
• PI Planning
  
• Scrum of Scrums
  
• Sprint Demos
  
• Inspect and Adapt sessions
  
• Coach team members and stakeholders on SAFe and Agile practices
  
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  
• Assist in defining project scope and objectives while ensuring technical feasibility
  
• Develop comprehensive project plans and monitor progress
  
• Keep stakeholders informed of key milestones
  
• Manage project scope, schedules, and costs through appropriate governance practices
  
• Measure project performance using project management tools and techniques
  
• Report and escalate issues to management as needed
  
• Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders
  
• Document and manage risks, issues, decisions, and action items
  
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and vendors
  
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  
• Facilitate approvals of key documentation
  
• Gather and clarify project requirements with stakeholders
  
• Delegate tasks based on team strengths and experience levels
  
• Track project performance and achievement of short-term and long-term goals
  
• Meet budget objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  
• Continuously develop and apply leadership skills
  
• Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document business needs
  
• Assist leadership teams with status reporting requirements
  
• Respond proactively to business and program issues and escalate appropriately
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting multiple software projects in various IT roles
  
• 5+ years of Program Management or Release Train Engineer (RTE) experience
  
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC)
  
• Deep understanding of Agile development and testing methodologies
  
• Experience with SAFe Agile environments
  
• Familiarity with:

• Microsoft PowerPoint
  
• Microsoft Excel
  
• Strong business acumen and understanding of enterprise environments
  
• Demonstrated experience applying repeatable processes and methodologies to enterprise-wide technology initiatives
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Strong organizational, analytical, planning, and leadership abilities
  
• Excellent remote collaboration skills
  
• Experience working across multiple projects and cross-functional teams
  
• Ability to coordinate effectively within large matrix organizations
  
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  
• Experience collaborating with global teams
  
• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of initiatives that incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  
• Ensure appropriate governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment for technology initiatives involving AI capabilities.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification
  
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  
• Experience with Agile development processes
  
• Experience in packaged SDLC environments
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
