Remote Phone Fundraiser – Use Your Voice to Make a Difference | $19–$24/hr

Work remotely. Build real connections. Fundraise for causes that matter.

Are you someone who can talk to almost anyone, tell a great story, and get genuinely excited about something you care about?

Do you enjoy connecting with people, making a persuasive case, and turning a conversation into action?

We're hiring Remote Phone Fundraisers to represent nonprofit organizations working on important environmental, humanitarian, and social justice causes.

This isn't cold calling, and it isn't commission-based sales.

You'll speak with people across Canada who have already interacted with our nonprofit partners in some way – whether they've signed a petition, donated, subscribed to updates, or otherwise shown an interest in the cause.

Your job is to turn that existing interest into a meaningful conversation and, ultimately, a long-term monthly donation.

Check out our website: https://publicoutreachgroup.com/

What You'll DoYou'll spend your day having real conversations with people who have already shown an interest in the causes you're representing.

You'll:

  • Speak with supporters across Canada about important social, environmental, and humanitarian issues

  • Tell stories and explain why a cause matters

  • Build trust and connection using your voice

  • Ask supporters to become long-term monthly donors

  • Respond thoughtfully to questions, concerns, and rejection

  • Work toward clear fundraising goals

  • Participate in regular coaching, workshops, feedback, and skill development

  • Learn from experienced fundraisers and continuously improve your communication skills

This is a performance role.

Fundraising isn't always easy. You'll hear “no” much more often than “yes.”

The people who thrive here are resilient, confident communicators who can stay warm and enthusiastic even after a difficult conversation. You'll be supported with training, coaching, and feedback – but you'll also be expected to work toward your goals and continually improve.

We use ethical, respectful fundraising practices. We're not looking for aggressive salespeople or high-pressure tactics. We're looking for people who can genuinely connect with others and make a compelling case for something they believe in.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You don't need previous fundraising experience.

You might come from communications, advocacy, theatre, performing arts, education, hospitality, customer service, public speaking, sales, community work, or another people-focused role.

What matters most is that you:

  • Are a confident and engaging communicator

  • Can tell a story and make someone care about it

  • Enjoy talking and connecting with different kinds of people

  • Can persuade someone without being pushy

  • Are genuinely interested in social, environmental, or humanitarian causes

  • Are comfortable hearing “no” and moving on to the next conversation

  • Are motivated by goals and enjoy improving your performance

  • Take coaching well and are willing to keep learning

  • Are comfortable working independently in a remote environment

  • Have enough technical confidence to troubleshoot basic issues when working from home

Bilingual English/French communication is an asset, as some of our campaigns require bilingual fundraisers – but it is not required for most positions.

Your Voice Matters Here

Unlike face-to-face fundraising, you can't rely on body language or a handshake.

Your voice is your tool.

The best fundraisers can communicate warmth, trust, confidence, humour, urgency, and passion through a conversation alone.

If you're the kind of person who can talk passionately about something you love and make other people interested in it too, we'd love to hear from you.

As part of the application process, we'll ask you to submit a short voice or video introduction telling us who you are and why you're interested in the role.

No professional recording is required. We simply want to hear how you communicate.

Compensation & GrowthThis is a guaranteed hourly wage – not commission.
  • $19–$24/hour

  • Starting rate: $19/hour

  • Regular opportunities to increase your hourly rate based on hours worked, performance, and consistency

  • Performance-based bonuses and incentives

  • Paid training

  • Paid time off

  • Benefits after 6 months of full-time employment

  • Clear opportunities to progress from Fundraiser

Strong performers can earn more as they build experience and consistently meet their goals.

Schedule

We are looking for people who can commit to a consistent schedule.

  • Minimum 32 hours per week

  • Four 8-hour shifts minimum

  • Monday–Friday

  • Shifts scheduled between 11 AM and 9 PM

  • No weekend work to start

Strong part-time candidates may be considered in some circumstances, but our primary need is for people who can commit to 32+ hours per week.

Important: Remote Technology Requirements

Because you'll be making real-time fundraising calls from home, having the right setup is essential to your success.

Before applying, please make sure you have:

  • A desktop or laptop running Windows 11 or newer

    • MacBooks are unfortunately not compatible with our calling system

  • Reliable high-speed internet capable of at least 50 Mbps download / 30 Mbps upload

  • A wired headset with microphone for clear calls

  • A private, quiet workspace where you can take calls without interruptions

  • A reliable internet connection

    • Wired Ethernet is strongly preferred

  • Basic technical confidence and the ability to troubleshoot simple issues independently

You'll complete a technology check during the hiring process, including an internet speed and voice connection test, before moving forward.

If you don't currently have access to a Windows 11+ computer and reliable high-speed internet, this role won't be the right fit.Why Public Outreach?

You'll join a team where fundraising is treated as a skill that can be developed.

You'll receive paid training, ongoing coaching, workshops, feedback, and opportunities to grow. You'll have clear goals and a team supporting you as you work toward them.

Most importantly, you'll be using your communication skills to help organizations create meaningful, long-term change.

If you care about a cause, love talking to people, and want to get really good at turning conversations into action, we'd love to hear your voice.

Apply Today

Apply with your resume and tell us a little about yourself.

As part of the application process, you'll also have the opportunity to submit a short voice or video introduction. Show us who you are, what you're passionate about, and why you think you'd be great at this work.
