Key Responsibilities:Product Strategy
- Lead the vision, strategy, and execution for life insurance product development and improvement.
- Conduct market monitoring and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, segments, and approaches for competitive advantage.
- Streamline and optimize the product portfolio across the company, eliminating redundancies and ensuring profitability.
- Develop and implement future product strategies aligned with corporate objectives and market trends.
- Collaborate with sales, distribution, marketing, and customer experience teams to ensure product offerings meet client needs and business growth targets.
- Oversee the deployment and management of new products, including digital strategies and change management initiatives.
Underwriting Guidelines & Automation
- Define and maintain underwriting philosophy, guidelines, and risk tolerance and ensure consistency across business units.
- Lead initiatives to automate underwriting processes, leveraging advanced rules engines, AI-driven risk scoring, and predictive analytics.
- Ensure underwriting systems are integrated with digital platforms for seamless agent and client experiences.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively update underwriting practices.
- Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks for underwriting efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal audit requirements.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with actuarial, claims, and other business units to align product and underwriting strategies.
- Mentor and develop leaders and staff, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a change management catalyst to facilitate the implementation of new initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, Marketing, or related field; FSA preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in product development and underwriting, with at least 8 years in management or senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record in product strategy, competitive intelligence, and underwriting automation.
- Strong knowledge of life insurance products, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
