The PositionKaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, is seeking a Resource Manager to oversee the effective deployment of consulting resources across practices. This role serves as a critical bridge between leadership strategy and operational execution, ensuring staffing decisions align with client needs, business priorities, and consultant development. The Resource Manager is responsible for owning staffing workflows, driving utilization outcomes, and ensuring data integrity within the PSA and staffing tools, while coaching junior team members and partnering closely with practice leadership. This position reports to the Director, Resource Management.Resource Planning & Staffing Management- Own and manage staffing assignments across one or more practices, balancing client demand, consultant skills, and utilization targets
- Review and validate resource requests to ensure alignment with project scope, timelines, and business priorities
- Partner with practice leaders and project managers to proactively match consultants to engagements
- Monitor staffing pipeline, identifying risks, gaps, and redeployment opportunities
- Serve as a primary subject matter expert on the PSA and staffing tools, ensuring consistent and effective use across teams
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all staffing data, including allocations, availability, and project assignments
- Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to consultants and leaders on system usage and staffing processes
- Partner on system enhancements, reporting improvements, and process standardization
- Monitor and manage utilization performance, partnering with leadership to address gaps and drive improvements
- Own reporting on key KPIs, including utilization, capacity, and staffing forecasts
- Analyze trends and provide insights to inform staffing decisions and workforce planning
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs and underlying data
- Provide guidance and oversight to Specialists and Senior Specialists, reviewing work and supporting development
- Promote best practices in data entry, system usage, and staffing coordination
- Help drive consistency in processes, documentation, and execution across the resource management team
- Partner with Finance, HR, Recruiting, and Learning & Development on headcount planning, skills alignment, and workforce needs
- Support performance management processes by ensuring accurate tracking of staffing history and feedback timing
- Contribute to workforce planning discussions by providing data-backed insights on capacity and demand
- Identify opportunities to improve staffing workflows, data quality, and reporting efficiency
- Lead initiatives to standardize processes and enhance operational effectiveness
- Maintain documentation for staffing processes, system usage, and data standards
- Strong understanding of staffing models, utilization management, and consulting operations
- Demonstrated experience working with PSA, CRM, or staffing tools (e.g., Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and make informed staffing decisions
- Ability to own staffing decisions while collaborating effectively with leadership
- Strong accountability for data accuracy and system integrity
- Confidence serving as a go-to expert on PSA/staffing tools
- Balance of analytical thinking and operational execution
- Capability to coach junior team members while remaining hands-on

- The role is based in Chicago, with a hybrid work schedule
- Work is regularly performed in a combination of office/home office, and routinely uses standard office equipment.
- It may require the maintenance of a home office and proximity to an airport for work related travel.
