Responsibilities:

The Second Line of Defense (SLOD), Consumer Credit Risk is mandated with providing credible challenge to business unit credit policies, strategies, and overall performance against agreed risk appetite. Within the SLOD, the Credit Risk Policy Assurance function is tasked with ensuring credit policies are implemented correctly (execution matches intent). An additional expanded capability is the ability to independently review analytics supporting policy recommendations and provide standalone analytic insights into credit trends at the request of senior management.

The Risk Analytics Senior Manager will be an integral part of the SLOD’s independent analytic function.  He/She will be responsible for producing analytic “deep dives”, at the request of management, across any of the business lines within Consumer and Business Banking.  He/She will utilize knowledge of databases and programming skills to mine data, identify trends and/or generate analyzes on performance of target populations.  Analytic projects may range from vintage based tracking, customer segmentation, back-testing of existing strategies or evaluating hypothetical policy changes on historic data.  He/She will be a self-starter that is comfortable multi-tasking and working with multiple data sources.

Qualification:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Economics)

• 5+ years financial or quantitative experience

• 3+ years’ experience programming in either SAS, SQL, Python, R, etc. 

• Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Economics)

• 5-7 years analytical or quantitative experience, preferably in retail credit risk in one or more of the following product lines: Credit Cards, Student Lending, Mortgage/Home Equity, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) financing, Small Business Banking 

• 5+ years’ experience programming in SAS, SQL and proven experience with relational databases 

• Ability to effectively communicate and present recommendations and solutions to business partners and internal team members

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $150,000-$160,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
